Yeah man it's crazy... just a wall of massive hotels along the Niagara Gorge... pretty cool though, and very unique in the world as far as the geology, hydrology, geography and character of Niagara falls.

the building has been approved. apparently there was a rather odd lack of NIMBYs at the meeting.

It must have something to do with Ontario legalizing —. These hotel rooms need to be filled, among other things.

How reputable is the developer? I almost feel like this is pie in the sky but then again Niagra falls is not Hamilton.

It's actually just to the south east of the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh.. wow.. so wouldn't that put it closer to the entertainment district than most of the primary skyline?

It's only 2 blocks from the old casino... but in the opposite direction from the new casino, farther away from the main tourist zone.

Actually no, in that render it looks to be North of the Rainbow Bridge. So my initial assumption seems more likely.

By my count off Wikipedia, that would give Niagara Falls more buildings >100m than Winnipeg.

Looks similar to the 90 Harbour pair. I'm guessing it's Clewes.

Oops. Totally missed that.

B+H is also responsible for the Toronto Aquarium and Mars Phase II.

When I first saw this headline I thought it was something we hadn't heard of yet, but it looks like Oxford may be closer to moving ahead on 100 Adelaide then we initially thought.
This is a really agressive move and I don't quite understand it. Oxford still does not have a lead tenant lined up yet and there are few tenants currently in the market for space like this.

If this goes up, combined with BAII, Waterpark, Menkes building, Southcore and the Entertainment district tower all going up Toronto's office market could have a serious glut of space in about 3 years.

Concerning times.

Here's an article from March about another tall hotel proposed for Niagara Falls, with picture of an early design. At 197 m it is now in the top 50 proposals.

It would be the second tower to go up on spec, along with one York. The entertainment district tower won't go up unless it has a tenant, which I find unlikely. It might attract some large suburban non-financing companies though. There is also the 16 york building currently looking for tenants.

I believe that 16 York has to begin construction before the condos are complete as per the development agreement with the city (LC can you confirm?) but I really doubt that Menkes will move ahead on spec. Their site is just not a prime location like those immediately adjacent to Union, nor is it close to the Bay Street core. I'd figure that most firms would much rather be near Bay & Adelaide than Lakeshore.

Advantage is that is right next to the new RBC Headquarter building...
