At this point the groups that use the theatre would likely be out in the cold for the 2012/2013 season, so I would be shocked if it was this year. I believe the goal now is fall 2013.

The official groundbreaking for the UCAMA is on Tuesday June 26th, at 2pm if anyone is interested. I'll be there shooting the event. Partial roadblock of Jasper Ave. during that time, (like that hasn't happened ) so plan your driving accordingly. ;-)

They've already started building, but hadn't had an official groundbreaking yet. They are sprucing up the area between it, and the XXX peeps to make for more sterile photo-ops. I

EDMONTON - Strong demand is shrinking vacancy in Edmonton’s office market in the second quarter with nearly 400,000 square feet of absorption, says a national report released Monday by Cushman & Wakefield.

A strong oil sector, along with the industries that service it, are driving demand, the real estate company said. Vacancy in the downtown core dropped to 7.5 per cent in the second quarter, down from 8.5 per cent in the previous quarter. The market had positive absorption of more than 170,000 square feet of downtown office space

I am one of his nimbys...I have not seen what is being proposed by Dub at the old ice plant (where he has been living). I read: "Rossdale Brewery". I see it says "Phase 1". What is phase 2? You say hotel. Which is it and where can I get more details...nothing arrived in my mail about a hotel. I would remember.

Edmonton's bars, clubs, casinos, pubs and music venues contributed almost $687 million to the city's economy in 2010, according to a new report.

The city's 235 late-night establishments (those open later than midnight) had more than 20.6 million visitors that year. The economic impact assessment, the first of its kind for the City of Edmonton, will be presented to city council's executive committee on June 27...

EDMONTON - Edmonton, Calgary and the province signed an agreement Monday to negotiate a big city charter they hope will find better ways to provide services in Alberta’s largest centres.
