The image is obviously stretched, unless the width of the trees they plan to grow span an entire block.

Yop, looks like they are planning a pedestrian bridge there, with the developer picking up the tab, and the city paying for associated costs.

They aren't hiding anything. You can request to review the application since it is a public document.

Cold, thanks for posting. Even seeing the slimmed version of the stretched photo on the previous page, this looks much better for some reason. I'm really digging that podium. And this is their first venture into the urban market? Wow! I hope that what ever goes on the Urbia lot is of at least this calibre, as that street definitely needs it more than 103rd, what with it being more of a premiere street.

Looking really good. It's a really elegant design, and something Edmonton has not seen much of (floor/ceiling glass, sleek lines, really clean). I love the podium too.

Also, is that a above ground parking garage sandwiched between the tower and the four story block thing facing west? If so, that's actually quite good....

Mercer, eh? Great space for them. I'd like to see more access to the building than just the one door. Do you know if anything else is planned?

As for Ultima, very well done. The podium especially is fantastic. Someone pass this around to everyone that struggles with historic-integration.

Great looking tower, and the street level is bang-on. What's really interesting is the low rise section off the back facing the alley, visible in the render above.

the fact tht it doesn't appear to but directly up against the building to the south, and from the look of it, it pays better attention to that side than icon does to the alley park. they must have some assurances that there will be no building there in the forseeable future.

What they showed looked like it has a massive ground presence, like it takes up 4 blocks. I doubt it's even the correct building:

I wonder if the technician that created that video for Global is personally against the development and intentionally made it look unattractive?

I hope the technician got in trouble for doing this.

An increasingly tight office-space market in Edmonton will spark the announcement of two major new buildings this year, according to John Ross, managing director with Avison Young's local office.

"My view is that we'll see one or maybe two new office projects announced, probably toward the end of this year, because the demand is going to be there."...
