I'm really excited for this tower, with not even having seen renderings. Edmonton is getting another high rise condo right in the heart of CBD. Wicked.

I don't think we're excited enough about this, bring on them renderings so I can start re-evaluating my excitement!!!

Those WE renderings are an updated version of what you see on the website. The WE renderings match what EDC last August, which was an update from what is on the website.

Not really upset with what could have been and what will be. By not building an office tower there, gives better chances of a better tower to be build elsewhere and sooner. Although the location is prime, the developer's main goal is to renovate the epcor building right. And what will be will have a lot more street appeal; i think from ground level this project will turn out real nice for that corner.

And as i said a better chance for something else somewhere else. I reeeeally like that melcor office tower i think that will be an awesome addition to our dt and a better corner for a highrise than the epcor one.

So anyways, any idea when the Ultima condo renderings will be released publicly? guessing sooner rather than later if, as CMD says, sales should begin rather shortly.

EDMONTON - A local contest to redesign strip malls drew more than 100 entries from 11 different countries and has been getting interest from developers from as far away as Moscow, say organizers who announced the winners this week.

“The design competition was really about ‘what’s your wildest idea.’ Out of that, you get some really practical examples,” said Merle Patchett, a key organizer and post-doctoral researcher at the University of Alberta.

“There has been a lot of interest,” she said, citing an inquiry from CEO Jeff Kirby of the Trinity Russian Retail Partnership and comments from local and national developers.

That's a good point to consider. It's better than having a damned parking lot where the BMO building once stood!

I think I may have just seen the ultima on global television! It was on a screen at them gym so no sound therefore I'm not 100% sure.. Looked real nice but not tall at all more like mid-rise?

I saw that also...it was meh at best from what i saw! Probably not enough of a visual to make a proper assessment. It did look like a mid rise though. Not 32 stories. Have to wait and see.

What they showed looked like it has a massive ground presence, like it takes up 4 blocks. I doubt it's even the correct building:

Apparently, it is the correct building, just stretched into an incorrect size. The actual building is less than half the width. With that, I'll say the building looks nice, and although I'll wait for more detailed renderings to make a better opinion, I don't think it lives up to the hype we've been hearing on SSP.

If one didn't know anybody you may think all the picture of EPCOR are also distorted.
