Hmm...on second thought, not all of these will likely start in the new year, but I think they all have the potential and I'm hopeful at least half of them do.

4. Hilton on 96th
5. Neon Sign Museum (is that confirmed for 2012?)
6. Azur
7. Vision for the Corner
8. Scott Park (doubt it'll happen, though)

I'm also looking forward to seeing Mayfair I, YEG 2012 Expansion, Centennial Plaza and Capital Blvd. being completed and the Pearl rising to near completion.

I'm kind of hoping Aurora stays away for a while. I like the design of the towers, but there are so many better spots in the core that could use some filling up.

I Agree. we need to fill in the gaps but they kind of already own the land unless they can convince someone to do a land swap with them.

Sorry if this is just a bit off topic, but I am doing some research and I need to find information regarding the number of hotel rooms within major North American Cities. The proportion of hotels rooms in Major Cities in relation to population. The analysis (in very simple terms) is what are the factors that warrant a greater number or fewer hotel rooms.

I doubt if population has any bearing on the number of hotel rooms. The main factor would be the number of visitors to that city, specifically business travelers and tourists.

Yup. Conventions are a big one from a business standpoint.

From a tourist standpoint it's all about attractions and I guess what you'd call vibrancy (night life, streets buzzing with people, etc.)

Interestingly it's the latter which often decides where the former are held. i.e. Vegas has lots of attractions and vibrancy. Vancouver is beautiful and buzzing. Thus, conventions get held there a lot.

Since E-town doesn't have beautiful surroundings like Vancouver we need to create our own attractions. RAM is a good start, but I'd like to see some other things, too, like a more tourist-friendly (moderately) developed river valley, some iconic architecture downtown, perhaps another new WORLD CLASS museum or two (aviation, for example), etc.

Just my two cents.

The Centre is planned as a LEED Silver, 27,500 m2, five-storey building facing Capital Boulevard, flanked by 103 Avenue and 107 Street. It features smart classroom technologies, labs, a day care, a new library, food services and student activity space, as well as underground parking. The building features a central atrium to provide light and space for student activities. The North Learning Centre will be connected to the existing building, the South Learning Centre. A renovation and retrofit of the South Learning Centre is integral to ensure the two buildings work together to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff. Once completed, NorQuest will have more student capacity allowing the College to meet its conservative growth projection of 2.3 per cent per annum or 12,500 learners by 2024.
