I believe this is just an old rumor.

INAC also has a regional office out at the FNUC building on campus where they lease 2 full floors. I do not see that moving as would bankrupt FNUC. Also, I believe it is a designated reserve so all the aboriginal workers at INAC do not have to pay income tax.

Welcome and thanks for posting. Just to clarify, Yara is actually a nitrogen fertilizer company - their office is in Tower I.

Also Encanto is in Vancouver, and although their proposed project in near Regina, it is not clear where they would put their office if they proceed. Western is also out of Vancouver, and their project is just outside of Regina. They have an operations office on McCara in the Dewdney E. industrial area.

Also there is Rio Tinto who are hiring numerous professionals and techinical people in Regina right now. They are on the 6th (top) floor of the Bank of Canada Building on 12th. This is the former executive floor of the Bank of Canada - nice space with a great view of Victoria Park. Rio Tinto is also winning a bidding war right now for Hathor Exploration, a uranium explorer with a world class discovery in the Athabasca Basin. The current bid is $654 million, so they are very serious. Perhaps there would be some synergies in a combined potash and uranium Canadian HQ. They currently have their Canadian HQ in Montreal - the former Alcan HQ which they acquired a few years ago.

Haha! They've actually done the opposite and added dirt to the site instead of removing it. I wouldn't be surprised if we get into January and nothing has happenned on the site even though they said end December. We'll I guess but these projects are exceptionally slow so if it happens on time I'll be shocked!

The rumored apartment tower at Northgate Mall is mentioned at this link. This has been rumored for years and is in Reed's "planning stage" category which has a lot of pie in the sky projects. Also its says it has a $1 milllion value, whcih makes no sense.

On a positive note, it says they have an architect (Stantec).

Apparently construction was supposed to begin on this site this week. It is modular construction and should be up within literally days.

Edit: apparently it went up over the weekend and is done, subject to finishing!

The Downtown BID is looking for people to work the Victoria Park skate shack - temp (obviously) casual positions if you're wondering. Anyway, I thought this part was interesting...

Casual employees would be responsible for monitoring the Victoria Park skate shack. Successful applicants would be expected to serve hot chocolate, record number of skaters and operate the sound system.

Did they even have a shack last year? I haven't skated in forever but I think I'll check it out this year.

They just opened one in Calgary so it seems unlikely.

Some interesting stuff including the Ram's Stadium render. I also note there is an Arena suggested and several residences, but none over 12 storeys. Sorry thefourthtower.

Looks like they've marked utility lines for excavation at City Square Place...It seems that this is the most legit of all the proposed downtown residential projects I guess.

They do seem to be quietly progressing along. What are the chances they hold a ceremonial ground breaking, followed immediately by some actually digging hole. How refreshing would that be.

I'm seeing in multiple places online that the plaza has been open to traffic since yesterday.
Anyone downtown who can confirm this? I though the city said no traffic until June?
