Why is there a WRHA building on Hargrave when there is one just a few blocks away on Main?

5468796 designed it. When it's done I think it will be OK. A more ambitious project architecturally than other options that were tossed around. They built 'up' not 'out' and avoided knocking down an old building on an adjacent lot, from what I recall.

You know what would be really ambitious? Designing a new building in Winnipeg that was actually attractive and appropriate for its setting. That would be ambitious.

Lets get the architects for The Bow (Calgary), ENCOR Tower (Edmonton), and the Manitoba Hydro tower together. I bet $5, that they will make one of the best towers in between Calgary and Toronto for us

The building looks like it was designed by someone on a break at Westeel or Grainmaster, it looks like it belongs on Oak Point highway or in the RM of Rosser. It's actually an insult to the buildings around it some of which have stood there for 100 years!

I think 10-15 smaller infill projects would do a lot more for Winnipeg then a Bow-esque tower.

I wasn't asking for another Bow lol. I was asking for a tower thats tall, and not a giant rectangular prism!!! Plus Encor looks better than the Bow, especially from a far distance

This Google photo shows a building kiddy-corner that is 6 storeys, and other across the street that is 4. This project fills in a surface lot, maintains two older buildings, and if you don't think it looks good I guess that's a matter of opinion. If you mean it doesn't look OLD, I agree, although I don't personally think it needs to look old. I'm pretty sure the half-invisible woman isn't common to the area.

The trizec building is also getting new panels/windows. Right now on the South side, the bottom 4 floors already have the new windows in and they are larger than they were before.
