Awesome summary of all the proposed projects, 1ajs!

Just curious, what happened to the past content in the Winnipeg Construction Thread? Has it been archived anywhere?

so...apparently the city council went against the unanimous vote of the community committee and voted in favour of allowing the towers on whellam's lane in north kildonan....they claimed that it was simply a bunch of seniors who were opposed, so they shouldnt count.

Regarding rental units, the abolishment of rent controls should be the ultimate goal. My opinion only, however.

for what purpose really do you really think property managers will fix up there apartements more without rent control. I don't think so.

rents will go up incrementally every year and besides if the property goes up according to assement then rents will go up right?

i know everyone here loves tall buildings without any real reason other than perhaps their phalic reference, but this is a complete affront to the process at city hall...why not just vote and dont waste everyone's time.
