Downtown Edmonton always appears like it's been bombed out - à la Dresden.

It's a nice city, just needs to focus TONS more of its development in the core area.

Unfortunately people like to think of downtown Edmonton as a comparison to Calgary all the time which isn't really fair

I think that's a huge reason the skyline is underrated, overlooked etc

Edmonton is really under-appreciated. Even when put up to Calgary, I think it can hold its own from certain angles.

Maybe people need to compare it more to Winnipeg, it'll get the props it desreves

Not quite the same angle, the pic appears to be taken from a much higher vantage point. Probably from the condos directly behind your link.

Edmonton has a great skyline for a city of 1mil, what other city has a skyline like that that is the same size?

Calgary is an anomaly in terms of skyline and the sheer number of corporate head offices, so it isn't fair to compare Calgary to Edmonton. I think the most fair comparison for Calgary would be Montreal (this isn't a slight on Montreal, so overly sensitive MTL forumers need not reply), mostly because the skylines and amount of office space are similar.
