Good post a while back, the original Edmonton comparison photos just show the apartments on Jasper Avenue and don't show the actual core very well

The core of Edmonton has obviously evolved substantially since 1969.

Does anyone else think the 1969 Toronto photo looks kinda like the Edmonton current ones?

Somewhat, but they feel on a different scale. The high rises that spew out from Yonge Street seem much more in terms of density and added length to skyline than what Oliver south of 102 Ave. is. They still look different, just with some similarities I think. That big railyard is enough to make it not look like Edmonton 2011, because both cities no longer have that.

Optical illusion!!! The shadow underneath/in-front-of the van in the first picture makes it look like it's hovering. . . wish my car could do that.

again, if you saw the larger version you would be able to see considerable difference and yes I did build this city, it is my city, i built it.

Pairs of photos like that can be perceived very differently by different people. If you know more about the context of the picture it is much easier to point out differences.

EAP has flown under a lot of people's radars, but it's such a damn beautiful building. Love the top and love the glass.

Edmonton's downtown is really under appreciated. I had the priviledge of staying down there last year and positively loved it.
