Not really a big deal at all. If I find that traffic is that heavy I simply go down 11th instead. I don't know anyone whose life is SO IMPORTANT that adding AT MOST 2 minutes to their commute is life-altering. Do you? Once 12th opens up things will be better. Until then, people should suck it up. The complaining is far more annoying than the traffic.

Aside from that, 11th feels more vibrant with the 2-way traffic. I don't know what it is, but it has a better feel to it. I would imagine there was a similar uproar when they were changed to 1-way in the first place.

I like the two way streets. It makes a huge difference to the feel of the downtown. Instead of two lanes plus a bus lane, its converted to what feels like a slower paced local distributor, instead of the freeways they once were.

Regina is like many other major cities in the world. We are so car dependent, that anything that makes it inconvenient to drive or park creates a huge uproar. It is a fact that you cannot drive downtown, park for free, and not have to walk to your destination. ...park a few blocks away, enjoy the fresh air. Its a beautiful thing to go for a relaxing walk, enjoy the scenery.

The first time I drove east on 11th, I really noticed a difference in the view of the Geese sculpture on Hamilton. the 2 ways really brought a different perspective to that landmark.

I like the two way streets though I am not a fan of how the buses are currently run through the downtown area. I wouldn't mind seeing all the streets converted to two way with a couple of them left one way, say Lorne and Hamilton, with the buses and traffic running in manner similar to how they used to on 11th and 12th. I don't see a reason to run the buses in both directions on those narrow streets; and no matter what is done, people will still stop/park in the bus lanes during the designated bus lane times.

It would also be nice to have some of the collector arteries, Saskatchewan Drive especially, fixed to allow the traffic to flow more freely out of the downtown.

I have an article in the MINUS 20 section of the paper on Monday. Some of you will think it looks familiar as it is based on one my posts. It's not so much about the economics of it, just straightening out the basis of the plan for the area and the former stadium area as well. Not too exciting I suppose. But I'm sure you will think it is worth a look. Or at least I hope so.

Can someone please help me out here, I would like to go back and have a look at page 100 on the original skyscraper threads, I think they went something like page1 to page 500?? Page 100(Ithink) is a diagram of a beautiful open-air stadium that I would like to have another look at just in case we don't get the retractable roof complex. Really appreciate any help anyone can give me!! Thanks

Yes guys that's the one!! You guys are amazing for such a quick response.But how do you go back to look at an old thread?? What do you think of this stadium? Notice how all the seating is between the goal lines
which is a big plus, from what I've seen of the Entertainment complex, it has some end-zone seating. If we can't get Federal funds ( gee thanks Andrew Sheer and friends,I think Ralph Goodale has done more for 'the cause' than any of our Conservative MP's) I think this would be a fabulous second choice and having it situated at CP railyard site, we would still get our downtown revitilization as well as the housing at the Mosaic site.

Actually I believe that is just a large mezzanine/circualtion area where they can add temporary seating.

Malls are a dying form of retail. It is unlikely to see any Regina mall expand as many existing malls have trouble making ends meet as is. Malls have been out of fashion for the better part of a decade.

I think Curo was talking about the quality of the stores. The Medicine Hat Mall is big but it does not have any more quality stores than Sask. Malls.
