I sure do. It was you, Frink, Wooster, Beltliner and I (and of course Miss Bigtime). I liked Nenshi before that day, but his speech that day convinced me right away. I am glad to say I did my part (as small as it was) for the campaign.

Heh, I was moved into a new ward, and it's now hotly contested. Hopefully whoever wins will be someone I can communicate with. Something I haven't done much before this election....

I've emailed her before to support the Bow River Float and the River of Light event this year. I got a personal reply about a week later.

By my estimation, we had about ~345,000 votes tonight (calculated based on 220/241 stations reporting extrapolated to 241). In 2007 it was less than 210,000 - so a raw increase of about 64%. Question is, how much did the pool of eligible voters increase by? In 2007 it was 33%. I'm guessing that accounting for an increase in the pool, conservatively we probably had about 52% voter turnout. Am I in the ball park? That's an awesome turnout given the precedent!

Just was doing that math. Theres 9% left of polls, if we assume an equal distribution of votes with the rest of the city (a bad assumption, but oh well), we'd have a shot at 50.9% turnout. Which would be a record.

310,564 votes counted and reported so far, out of 665,045 eligible (which will increase once the non-enumerated voters are added)

I just realized that while in 2007 Bronco had 61.08% (128K) of the votes, Nenshi with 39% of the vote in 2010 will be sitting at more net votes (likely at 133K +/-)!!!

345K/667K (incl. est. of non-enumerated) would be ...

~51.7% voter turnout!!!

Just a few comments from the day Nenshi declared his campaign, May 27. This was definitely the first many had heard of the man. What a long, run ride it's been on this thread.

And holy crap, I'm with Bigtime. 6am comes way too early. I really need to take a post-election day off to recover (and not be on call, so that I can have some celebratory drinks).

Yep, the last few polls to report had a lot of votes in them and it pushed the number up. 50% will be a sweet value to cross.
