No problem! I noticed they used the term underpass for the connector to siast from the u of r. Are they wanting to build under the ring road now? That would be pretty amazing, and it could be a lot better for the winter months.

If they had a road going under the ring road connecting Siast with the University, then you wouldn't have the need for buses going all the way to Siast. Rather just have a transfer station at the university with a shuttle that runs between the two places.. Ideally.

Regina helped fuel the job creation in the province with a year over year increase of 8, 200 jobs that is amazing the city is on fire, Saskatoon lost 3,400 jobs in august and sept.

I have no idea when they plan to do that. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I would love to see the U of R and SIAST work together. Student housing for example. I also see where there could be collaboration between certain programs in the same vein as their new collaborative nursing degree. Even with the current NEPS program students are back and forth between the university and SIAST. Not to mention the 1st and 2nd year students who are between two separate buildings at SIAST (the main building and Parkway Centre-the old Sask Learning building). It seems to me it would greatly benefit students of both institutions. SIAST would maintain it's small, community feel and hands on programs but would have convenience of being connected to the U of R (not to mention student housing options.) If they worked together on collaborative degrees or bridging options which would allow a student to achieve a certificate or diploma at SIAST and transfer to a related program at the university, they would have a ready supply of students. Students would have the best of both worlds-the hands on experience of a "technical" school and university education and degree. I'm thinking of programs like the Architecture Design, some of the applied arts, engineering, etc. I could be way off base here, but the two schools seem like they could work so well together.

Ugh, I wish we got the architecture school in Regina, rather than Saskatoon. We do have better architecture( in my opinion), and saskatchewans best architects came from here. Storey and van egmond! Not that that gives us any more reason to have it haha.

In this article it says Regina office vacancy rate is headed towards 6 to 7%. The 500,000 square feet of new space coming on stream won't bring the vacancy rate up from near zero to 7% as alot of this space is spoken for so I think you are correct in saying a new tower is coming. Hopefully something tall that you could wave hello to saskatoon from.

It's more like different stadium news... and the U of R has been wanting to move out to a university stadium for a while; however, from what I remember the Riders told them they had to stay at Taylor field if they want to continue having their 50-50 draws (which this year have been especially lucrative).

And about 3 years ago there was a university referendum on a stadium which ended with a no answer... it would have been nice... but oh well.

I really don't see the point of either.

They could continue to play at the cooperators center and spend a little money to arrange better transport for on-campus students to go to games if that is really an issue.

The infra structure dollars could be spent on better classrooms, better research facilities and more of the University signature structure type things to define the campus.

All you stucco haters will not be impressed with what your tax dollars are paying for at Milton Heights on Broadway. They are covering the existing brown brick with stucco that looks a lot like Broad Street Crossing.

You will recall the Government gave over $10 million to refurbish this building. It really doesn't make a lot of sense to spend that kind of money on a project that will not create a single new low income housing unit. They could have done basic repairs for a few million and built dozens of new units with the rest of the money.

It's taken them all summer to get half of the building done. It may be done in Stucco but it does clean up the the look of Winnipeg and Broadway.

Yes it did look pretty bad before. I guess it is more the Wingate motif than Broad Street Crossing.
