Anyone up for a phototour/ride tonight? I was out last night and it was quite beautiful out but i did not bring my camera.

I am thinking 630pm at ezio farone and go from there. Specifically to get skyline and valley shots.

What's happening with The Devonian? It seems like nothing's been happening there for quite some time... are there tenants coming any time soon? Some kind of businesses on the main floor?

Not that I am in the know with this building but my guess is that the owner would want to secure tenants before committing to main floor space for it might be a requirement of the potential lessee.

Ideally we see another few hundred people working in it with the SWC a full service restaurant. I could totally see a cactus club or Milestone's in there who would then mint money as Joey's does.

I went on a walking tour with him, and he is worth listening to.

Exactly right, these types of tenants are well known and typically have long hours (9am-10pm).

Yep, 5 more of Quest-sized buildings in that area would be wonderful.

Exactly. 104 Ave is not bad, yes its wide, but there are other major strips that are just as wide that work fine see Pacific Avenue in Vancouver and University Ave in Toronto as examples.

I don't know about University Ave in Toronto, it is very institutional, lined with large hospitals etc. Walking down that road a couple times a week for about a year, it felt kinda dead. Even during the day filled with hospital and government workers, people were only on the street to get from one place to the next - not too much life it seemed.

^I agree, building interaction with the street along University Avenue is poor and sterile. But much of that is due to how the buildings were designed many years ago. My point is that you can achieve a positive street interaction with a wide boulevard. It just depends on its design such adequate as separation space, landscaping, etc.

We now have a patio on 118th ave at Popular bakery, which just underwent a facade improvement and looks quite nice with the streetscape improvements done this year

They've also moved into the Arts centre over the past few weeks, stopped by the Portuguese Bakery @ 93 & 118 for a sandwich just now, the whole area has a bustling feel to it. With the streetscape improvements extending to 95th next year, The transformation will be pretty impressive.

As much as I'd like to join you ( I'm stuck in Iqaluit for another day) I was out on the weekend. Check out the new footbridge by Fort Edmonton. This will be one of the signature valley bridges.

Possible, but it looked like it was rigged up to serve some actual purpose.

I don't think that site trailer is for the demo either. It's sitting way too close to the building.

^ Don't believe so. All the lowrises that were being built are pretty much done. Last time I was down there they were moving a lot of dirt though. I wonder what the status of Central is.
