Dont forget that means that AC Jazz is dropping the route and mainline is taking over with the E-190.Not much, but better than a kick in the pants.

Although the WestJet 737-700 and the 800 daily still kill the E-190's and the lack of entertainment.

But if aeroplan members strive than why not?

How does the Westjet tv kill the E -190 entertainment system?

The Embraer Jet is very comfortable and has a great seat back video system. (All Air Canada aircraft have this video system now)

^ He must have flown on one of the first batch back in '05 that came with a 'in this spot will be our new entertainment system panel'. I myself flew in a E-175 wityh just that situation. The CRJ-700s have the new system now aswell.

I'd take the E-190 over the WJ 737's any time. No contest.

^Agreed.

I love the E-190's 2-2 seat configuration over the 737's 3-3 seat configurations. On my recent flight to Europe, i flew the E-190 and 767. Both flights had more than enough entertainment selections to fly 24 hours straight. I was surprised how new some of the movies were.

I'd pick AC's 190 over WJ's 737 anyday.

I hope I am reading the AC timetable wrong, but it looks like after Oct 24, the LHR flight will go twice weekly

Their PDF isn't the best to use...from what I see from other booking tools is that it is still 4x weekly.

Im all for supporting YEG. Ive paid much more for flights just to support direct flights out of Edmonton. But this fuel surcharge is just ridiculous.
Its completely misleading. Before, when you paid $1000 for a ticket it included the cost of fuel and the advertised cost was $1000. The fuel is a cost of doing business. So the $339 one way ticket to LHR should really be about $630.
To fly to Europe it is so much cheaper to connect out of the states. As far as I can tell - you dont pay a fuel surcharge.
Case in point - With AC I would pay $600+ in taxes/surcharges whereas with Continental it was just over $200.
And... with AC I still had to connect.

It is the interim solution for the loss of gates due to the expansion. basically they are building the bridges first (3 i beleive) with a connection so there is no disruption during the construction against the south wall

They are permanent bridges though so they can be used long term (that is what I understand anyway) and will provide "extra" capacity (backup) and have some nifty features...

The bridges (I think there are six) are permanent, but the hallway connecting them is temporary. Once the new terminal is built behind them, the gates will connect directly to it. It's interesting, because you can't see the tarmac from the US departures area anymore, so they've built a wall covered with children's art.

Do you have comparative data from other airports? I assume that is what you were referring.

YYC fared better in July that YEG did. YYC August not out yet.
