The last time I posted I lived in the city, but in Cleveland OH, and lived about 1800 miles from my home city. I currently live about 15 miles from downtown but as of 4/2 I will be back to being 3 miles from DT SLC

Strange?
I'm sort of in your neighborhood but a couple miles west.

I-25 is majorly congested during rush hour, so it takes about 1.5 times the distance that it would take to get to downtown from Aurora.

Ken, I want your view!

I'm about 18 miles from my regular coffee shop at 13th and Pennsylvania, 17 from Union Station, all by car or bus.

Now that I live in Yawnmont - I live less than .01 miles from downtown (across the street is what is considered 'downtown' though don't blink or you'll miss it).

I live smack in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. I love it. I walk or ride the train everywhere. In 2008, I put gas in my car a grand total of three times. In a year when gas prices topped out over 4 bucks a gallon, I'm glad for that. Also, the grestest bakery is right across the street from me, which is a definate perk.

About 18 miles from downtown Denver. I'm off Sheridan and Evans. I've ridden my bike downtown before, and took two or so brave walks.

Since it used a non-linear route (and in fact a route that can be used to exactly compute the aerial distance by noting that the distance is basically that of 2 sides of a square, thus divide 1.0 by square root of 2) i'm .7071 miles from the core of my city.

I like how technical you got with your answer. I'm just over 1 mile from this spot on the map, too. Easily within walking distance.

Wow, using that spot I'm 1.02 miles from it (direct, though).

There are a lot of us who live real close.
