Glad to see more people on the thread.

I think River Landing is a go... they should start digging by the end of the year. I am not to sure what the hold up is...

Hazco fenced off the corner lot at 25th Street and 2nd Avenue (Former Esso station), they dropped off a staff trailer and an excavator as well.

Here's a few photos I snapped back in Feb of this year while they were extracting soil samples.

Perhaps we'll see something built there after the soil is trucked away...

Global news had a blurb tonight on how Edgar properties has bought the parkade across from midtown, as well as the parking lot beside it, the folks building, and the art gallery. The report said this could possibly pave the way for class A office development.

Looks like occupancy of the 2nd Ave. Lofts is slowly underway. While waiting for the bus this afternoon I spotted some patio furniture on a fourth floor balcony facing 23rd St. and a man leaning on the rail. I've also seen people up on the 5th floor balconies over the past few days and one unit appears to have blinds up in the windows.

Meanwhile, hard-hatted workers can still be spotted on the rooftop and traversing the overhang above the ground floor.

Fantastic news about the possible office development. I would say that parkade is the single most hideous structure in Saskatoon, it looks like a shack set up by a homeless person...but blown to obscene proportions (this is not meant to be an stab at homeless people). BUT the problem is there is no set guideline for Class A, as of right now Calgary has no class A offices, with only one which is being proposed. I talked with an interior designer I know and he said that it is more just guidelines you follow. I google imaged class a office, and it looks like it is generally a bit lower of a structure with fantastic architecture and the interiors aren't as officeish but more a real well designed interior if that makes sense.

About that Parkade... I used to work at the rental car place a few years ago in it, and let me tell you, they can't demolish that parkade fast enough. It's absolute garbage. I'm sure any of you who have actually parked in there have noticed the wonderful paint job in the stairwells. Along with the added artwork.

One morning i got to work, open one of the doors to the stairwell and hit a drunk, sleeping bum. It's just depressing, and I hope it comes down.

And that paper coffee cup on the window sill that I mentioned a couple of months back is still there. I think the KG will be finished and filled before the cup comes down.

Atleast this isn't something major like finances or anything, it's just a matter of lake placid submitting all there working drawings and I don't think there will be ANY reason at all as to why this wouldn't get a building permit, so I don't think there is any concern for alarm.

Yeah it is still going to be built, which is awesome. I'm just not a fan of delays.

I took some pre-construction pictures of CUC before they do the improvements. I think judging from the pictures and what was done previously this should be a pretty decent upgrade...

I guess a picture, or a rendering would help me to see what this would look like. Thanks for the pictures btw, It will be interesting to see the progress of the upper deck construction.

Something that really bothers me everytime i go to an event there, especially a hockey game is the damn scoreboard! Why did the designer decide that it would be smart to have it centered over the blueline, rather centre ice.

I look up, and I just think 'What the Hell'?

The big sign is up. Couldn't get a good look driving by at night, but it's (at least) office condos. ICR is the listing agent, nothing on their site yet.

There's actually a good reason for that. The two beams that support the roof over center ice wouldn't be able to support the weight of the new score clock. So instead, they shifted it over a bit. And I agree, it does look dumb, but that's the price to pay for improvements, I guess.

But as long as the Blades keep winning this season, people will be paying more attention to the product on the ice instead of the scoreboard.

Speaking of ICR, they have a new rendering up of River landing....
