I wish the times on the posts were accurate times for this locality (Mountain). I am posting this at 12:09 pm on the 13th Feb and do not see an announcement re: Chengdu - at least as far as air transport is concerned.

hope you realize that this is a profile option setting you can select which time zone you are in, and it will align all the posting times to that.

fort mac is becoming quite popular for tours... but yeah on the grand scheme of things...

I would assume that a news conference would need to be scheduled. They tend to be "theme oriented" with the EAA, so that would take some time.

It will be a busy few days for the ''clan'' from China.

Although from what was seen today during a tour of the airport and the after talk, they like what they saw.

''Lots of room'' to build facilites was a memorable comment.

Since this thread is about YEG services, I thought I might bring the discussion back to that point. I would have to agree that the current customer services are lacking (compared to other similar size airport facilities) but that is going to change in the next few years. Actually, construction on the Two (yes Two) Starbucks outlets is starting within a week. One will be outside gate 52 and the other in the USA departures lounge. (Both are past security) I have also heard that the Montanas will be expanding shortly to include another restaurant ( or lounge or something similar). Progress seems to take a little longer in this town, but eventually it gets there.

A Starbucks in the US departures is pure money.

I wonder if the one if the US area will replace Toast? Starbucks is definetly a bonus there...Im thinking though that would reduce your food choice from toasted hotdogs to banana loaf haha.

Depending on the Starbucks location, you can get everything from sandwiches to great salads, etc.

Could be, the Toast in the A wing of YYC is being replaced by a Starbucks.

You've got me excited now Echuck. Lots of room for facilities.. hmm are these the guys who wanna build some assembly warehouses by the airport?
Good to hear they're touring all of Alberta.. I hope that black sticky stuff up north gets them drooling. See all that farmland by the airport China? Build away!

I remember seeing a 737 combi a few years back that offered service up north. might have been Air North or Canadian North, I dont know. But, what, if any, carriers use scheduled service with a 747 combi?
