I guess what got me this time is just how far away we are from "getting it" here in Edmonton. Some days, there is that ray of hope, then you meet or find things like this, and wonder what the hell I'm wasting my time for...

rapid_business · #**302** Posted **May 25, 2007, 2:21 PM**

can said reply be posted?

EDIT: For us to mock and b*tch over obviously.

Actually I think a majority of people do get it, but the people that don't are vocal. ie. the entrances to the city and Lesley.

The 41 Avenue SW overpass will be an important one since 25 Avenue SW will be a fly-over overpass only (no access from Gateway Blvd). The issue there will be who will pay for it? 41 Avenue SW is the City of Edmonton southern boundary. Theoretically, half the road and overpass should be built on the City side and half on the County side and we all know how well the City of Edmonton and County of Leduc get along.

Hence the problem...the people who get it need to start becoming vocal. I am so tired of this silent majority jsut sitting and playing the political "nice kitty" game while the misinformed and biased ludmouths with the access to print, radio, and TV blather on and on about garbage that makes us seem hicksville...

^then run for mayor

Edmonchuck · #**307** Posted **May 25, 2007, 7:44 PM**

only if you run for council....I need allies and when I did my discovery for either councillor or mayor...well, let's just say that the results were not appealing given the councillors on staff or proposed...although I am getting pressure from a few to actually run...

Coldrsx · #**308** Posted **May 25, 2007, 7:54 PM**

Im not a poli...but im more than willing to assist.

Edmonchuck · #**309** Posted **May 25, 2007, 7:57 PM**

neither am I, in fact Stephen called me an "educated redneck that won't suffer fools lightly, kick 🞵🞵🞵, and take names"...so I'll probably piss off more people that I woudl get to vote for me.

...hence why I am not a poli either. The focus group mentioned that I was just a little too blunt...

Does anyone know what flight 4001 on Saturday is for to Chicago with Air Canada? is it Jetz?

CMD UW · #**318** Posted **May 26, 2007, 11:12 PM**

No idea. Man is there a handsome amount of air traffic at YEG now. I spent yesterday afternoon golfing at Red Tail and every couple of seconds there was a plane taking off or landing.

I noticed Calgary uses Heathrow as their naming convention. It looks a lot better.

"London UK" looks small townish to me.

I e-mailed Edmonton Airports about this yesterday and they agreed with changing UK to Heathrow. If you look at today's flight arrivals/departures screen (on the web at least), Air Canada flight 898 reads as "London (Heathrow)". Hopefully the Air Transat and Zoom flights are also updated to read "London (Gatwick)".
