It was a joke but as an alumnus, it is sad to see the results the last few years. McCrystal is way past his expiry date.

I don't hate it here, I just want to see it do better.

I heard a rumor that a developer is looking at a new Tim Hortons franchise located somewhere downtown. It would sure alleviate some of the pressure off the other locations. Anyone else heard anything like this?

^^ It would make sense, since the existing Tim Hortons in the city are constantly packed

I would love to see a small stadium built at the university, maybe 5000 seats max.

There's nothing worse than having a university game with 4000 fans spread out in a 30,000 seat stadium like taylor field. The rams need their own home

Eeek. Would a Tim Hortons have a negative impact on existing coffeeshops though? I would want to see any close.

The Rams are deffinetly planning on making their new home at the U of R. However, it's not next on the list for projects from the university. You'll see a rink built on campus before a stadium.

Don't count on it. If the Rams move from Taylor Field, the Riders have threatened to take away their 50/50 rights at Rider games. The Rams share a portion of the Taylor Field costs, so if they leave, it will cost the Riders more to operate. The 50/50 tickets are one of the biggest fundraisers for them, so if the Rams lose that, they'll be in financial trouble.

I think an 8-10 thousand seat stadium, would actually draw a much bigger crowd than Taylor Field. The Rams Fan base is aging so they need to appeal to the university atmosphere. I would love to see the games move to the university, but I don't think it will happen.

The Rams should call the Riders on it. They would back down, the public embarrassment would force them to allow the 50/50s.

It kinda looks like a modernized version of Winnipeg's current stadium, but with both end closed in. If the building at the far endzone is angled off to the side, it would be damn close to the Canadinns Stadium configuration.

Tim Horton's is looking into the new development on 11th and Broad (Old Army and Navy).
