i got loads of family in Calgary they keep moving to a new place cept my grandma who stays put on 25ave near 2nd in mission

shes got a kick ass veiw

but dam is the traffic noisy. good call CCF stay put or come to winnipeg

I appreciate he honest question...I am in the finance area...The opportunity for me to do the same thing in Regina is limited due to the fact that there is a small population, lower household income, and less entrepreneurs...Thus, less opportunity...

For my children, there is a wider range of activities they can enjoy here which could lead them to certain careers in the future...Ski jumping coahch for example...I realize that someone in Regina also has a chance to do such a thing but it is a little out of the way as opposed to being in our back yard...I am sure there are opportunities in Regina but not for this cat...

I can understand your perspective on the job front.

The ski jumping part, I'm not so sure about....I don't think I'd want anyone I know ski jumping!

Funny you should say that (about the I Love Regina statue)...

The new fieldturf going in at Mosaic Stadium this year apparently has a small I LOVE REGINA logo in one of the endzones. The endzone has a big Rider logo, and a small Rams logo on one side, and a small Regina logo on the other...

The other endzone has ROUGHRIDERS in black text. The endzones are supposed to be darker green than the rest of the turf.

Well, not quite.

No as in, none of those pictures exactly. This was a project from the McGill school of architecture. So these are pictures of "what could be."

The market is something they've been working on for years. Right now we only have a farmer's market during the summer months. They've been wanting to make a year-round market for some time, but haven't really found a suitable facility.

wow thanks CCF, I love the indoors farmer market and the Albert street concept. I hope these come true one day

I also wish they would build that nice glass hotel across from the casino, better than the bland Wingate we're getting

There is a farmers market year-round. It was at REP for years, it's been in the banquet hall at the Eagles Club since the outdoor market closed for the season. It isn't exactly downtown...though the Eagles Club might as well be, I suppose.

Regina Exhibition Park...and the Eagles Club is on South Railway, right across from the Casion parkade.

Thanks for those pictures, by the way...I'd seen a couple of them before, but never the whole thing.

I don't even remember how I heard about it...I think it was on the news awhile back because they were looking for a new location because of construction at REP or something. (I think it was when they were building the EventPlex.) I agree, though, that it would be nice to a permanent location downtown. I think it will happen soon though...just a feeling. I do know that there are people who know about it, but have no idea where it is. A permanent location would solve those problems! Plus, it would be convenient and put some life into the downtown. I've always enjoyed flea markets/farmers markets. They're so...lively.

Hey I know a guy who lives on 25th and 2nd too..... small world. He moved from Regina infact.

I saw the feature story on Monday. It focused on a family who moved from Calgary to Regina. They sold there modest home in Calgary and bought a much nicer one in West Hill (I think) on the golf course and saved over 200G. They also now have a short 10 minute commute. His salary has actually gone up as he is now part owner of a new Moxies in town.

Overall a great story. Of the people who mentioned it to me the next day as a water cooler topic, they were also impressed. Infact a friend of mine told me that a co-worker of his was going to seriously consider relocating there.
