I was back home in Regina over Christmas. The new RCMP museum looks amazing. Great to see the UofR is expanding at such a great rate too! Looking good Regina ... almost makes me want to move back ... but not quite

I totally agree Leafer. The RCMP museum is going to be incredible. Personally I hope the city promotes the hell out of it as I see it being a huge tourist draw and something we can all be proud of.

Would someone be able to go take a pic of that rendering at the UofR?

Also how about progress at Wingate, STC bus depot and Army & Navy demo. I won't be going to Regina again till the end of February; would love to see some pics -

It is now called, Saskatchewan Disease Control Laboratory.

Nothing too groundbreaking. Construction will begin in early 2007, end date will be 2008.

This is the Saskatchewan Disease Control Lab, I posted this back in October. Unless the rendering has changed, I believe that is what is posted in research park.

Hehe that's probably it. Mind you I think it might be a different angle...or maybe a slightly different render on the sign.

Could be just me too...didn't get a real good look...I just drove by it a couple times.

I read somewhere that when complete, the RCMP Heritage Centre will be one of the most popular attractions in Canada and from rcmpheritagecentre.com:
"Construction of the RCMP Heritage Centre will attract an estimated annual attendance of 150 thousand visitors, of which 70% are expected to be national and international visitors."

There is going to be a big story on Monday's global news in Calgary about a couple who left Calgary to live the good life in Regina. It seems they will feature of quality of housing you can get, for an affordable price.

I've seen about a 100 promotions about this story during the NFL telecast. It should be a very interesting.

More people are moving back to SK from AB than ever before since the AB boom. I would imagine most are ex-pats coming home...but great news!

I hope this trend continues, and spreads into Manitoba too (I am actually considering it if the opportunity arises). It would be great to see both provinces becoming more significant alternatives for those who wish to move out west!

I am considering it as well.... I think with the skyrocketing property prices in Calgary.. more and more will be looking to return home.

A friend of mine just recently took out a mortgage for $350,000 on a very modest home in a newer suburb..... and I just can't see myself paying that level of expense. Over $2800 a month for a small home on a small lot.

I know for the same 400,000 .... he could get an awsome home in Sask or Manitoba.

I consider myself lucky as my mortgage is about $2400 per month...I paid $435,000 for my home but I signed the documents with the builder at the end of 2003...My house is 2800 sq ft on 1/4 acre lot in NW Calgary...These are rare finds these days...

I went to look at some showhomes today and I dont think I can afford a new place...The I can probably build the house we like for about $950,000 but I think I can only get $850,000 for my place...

I have also thought about selling and moving back to Regina but my salary would most likely be cut half the amount it is here....It would also be hard for me to pick up and leave Calgary as I feel there is more opportunity here for my family...

Calgary is nice to visit, but I don't think I could ever live there.
