Irv White Buick was at 250 S. La Brea. Morse Signal Devices (to the right) at 211 and Utter Pontiac (part sign at left) was at 200 S. La Brea.

At first glance I thought Richard was honoring his British heritage and driving an early MGB but some things didn't look right. I believe he is actually driving a Fiat 1200 Cabriolet, possibly a 1963 model.

The neon sign was replaced with the parking lot entrance to 11755 Wilshire Blvd, a tower I briefly worked in.

I just happened upon this spectacular aerial on eBay. ..I know we have seen similar -but not this exact one.

Am I correct to say the building with the TWA advertisement is the old Architects Building?

But what's the white building at the lower edge of the slide? (Monarch Hotel?)

Sorry, I don't remember what was on the site before 11755 was built.
I'm sure it's on one of the CDs floating around this forum...

This is looking north on Hill Street towards 5th Street- most buildings that used to be on stretch of Hill ( on right side of this photo) were razed in late 60s-- Pershing Square happens to be out of view on left side of this photo. Location of this shot is from Sixth Street crosswalk

The Monarch would've been across Figueroa on the opposite corner to the Architects Building, but it had already gone when this photo was taken. The white structure at the lower edge is the Sunkist Building at 707 West 5th Street, seen here in 1935. It was demolished in 1972.

Let's hope they're making it safer. The tower has had fires in 2013 and 2020.

Apparently in 1976, Burbank had their fire hydrants all decorated in a Bicentennial motif...
