And it's up to whatever contractual arrangements have been made between the parties.
And in addition to that, for clarity: just because liens have been filed, doesn't mean Carrington is the one not paying people (or whatever entity owns the property). A lien is designed to give unpaid contractors a mechanism to enforce payment if they worked on a property, regardless of who may have been the person who hired them.

So under your little diagram, it could be anyone in the line that hasn't paid.

I wonder if this is why there's been no movement (or at least visible movement) on the Provoncher building? They put in piles but I haven't seen anything happening

I'll have to try and remember to keep an eye on their new project a few blocks away from me on Kimberly Ave as they were doing excavation work and site cleanup from the fire from the previous developer.

Ya it almost seemed too good to be true that this new developer swooped in and had the $$$ to build all these new projects all at once + takeover dying projects....perhaps it was too good to be true. We shall see.

I was downtown on the weekend and this actually really pissed me off. Seeing the amount of little pieces of white styrofoam blowing around in the gutters in multiple blocks around this project.

To think I had high hopes for this developer. What an absolute letdown.

I presume this is the garbage standard we can expect from this mob going forward.

The Grenfell fire in London was a result of foam insulation being covered with combustible cladding. The cladding was sort of an aluminum sandwich with a flammable core. If the foam insulation had been covered with a non-combustible material, like fibre cement panels, the fire would not have spread so readily.

It’s a huge problem in the UK because many other buildings have the same type of cladding. Interesting read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_cladding_crisis

The city or design committee who approved should consider banning this as a finish going forward. I can't imagine the months of Styrofoam chips helping our environment nor wildlife never mind how it cheapens the esthetique of expensive rentals buildings..

On the topic of unpaid bills. I notice the Carrington project Lomdon Manor in NK has seemingly stopped work. Equipment hadn't moved. Form work in same state. Some equipment was being picked up today when I went by. No workers on site for probably a couple weeks now.

You beat me to posting this. Last worker I saw on site a few weeks ago was working on fixing the fencing on the site. Not sure if he was a Gateway construction worker or somebody from the fence rental company.

I think I saw the Gateway Construction site office trailer still on site as of my going by the site on Saturday morning.
