In other news, they've been working a lot over the winter on interior fit outs. They've got drywall in probably to the 10th level. Not sure what state the top couple floors are with the missing windows.

They've also installed the frames for the main floor windows over the last couple weeks. And hoarded in one set of balconies, all the way up on the west side for some reason.

I'm watching these guys stick the Styrofoam to the side of the building. Bah god..

Cut Styrofoam to size with a saw. Trowel cement onto side of building. Slap Styrofoam on the wall and give a couple "that'll do" pats. Lol

Then come back later with a sander hooked up to a shop vac ( a yellow dewalt version) and sand the mother down. This is what we've come to as a society. Haha at least the walls are concrete I suppose.

Ouff what's with local Winnipeg businesses not paying their employees / contractors? That's crazy if they aren't.

They hoarded the balconies and the stairwell on the parkade. They just started this week again on the big west elevation.

TV. Is the part that was oringally non brick to remain exposed concrete? The recessed ends? I

That's not good, they have a lot of high profile projects in the pipeline, hopefully this is just a minor occurrence.

On a project like this who pays the subs. Is it the developer directly paying or do they release funds to the general contractor who then pays out the invoices from the subs.

I think it depends. Generally though, everyone in the line who is supposed to pay people is expected to maintain a holdback to be released on completion, which specifically has to do with the liens legislation.

Probably Carrington > Gateway > Subs. For the most part.

And it's up to whatever contractual arrangements have been made between the parties.
