And, indubitably, 2 WTC is most prosaic one. We waited 25+ years to get a downgraded disappointment.

I think everyone just needs to simmer down here.. the city is getting another 1200+ footer and Foster hasn't actually published official renderings on their website yet. It only made sense that American Express would want their own signature tower downtown.

^ Yes, that's the tallest building on the ABC campus proposal. It also goes by 147-149 Columbus Avenue.

I was just about to say the same thing. The massing is just better and less clunky.

I do think 2wtc is nice... But there is a a part of me that will miss the unobstructed view of one wtc from st. Paul's and the Brooklyn bridge, and the amount of sunlight that the memorial currently gets.

Overall, I'm happy to see that New York is still building impressive skyscrapers though!

What can I say, I'm just a huge fan of 1wtc but I'm sure that 2wtc will grow on me.

And the view from the south and west will definitely be a big step up too!

If anyone could post construction updates from this angle, that would be great!

Just think, 2WTC will practically cover it up to the observation deck! Kind of butter sweet personally, I just love 1wtc so much

That is a wonderfully executed representation by TREPYE of the new 2WTC design sitting amongst its peers. I represent myself on this site with the Call name, streetscapes. The reason being is I paint pictures that are mostly streetscapes. When I looked at how the building would look, it was as an artist would look at it. Composition and balance are very important in a picture and what stood out to me is it is begging for something to adorn the top of it and bring it a bit more up to par with its big brother standing tall next to it. I’m talking something simple, that’s all it needs just to give it a little bit more presence. Something to break up the redundancy of the flat top buildings around it, e.g. A spindle style spire with some gravitas integrated into the roof of the building. I remain streetscapes.

This looks like the Temu version of 2WTC.
