It’s a slight bit of consolation that the new building will take up more of the Pembina frontage than the old Cambridge. What really is an eyesore along Pembina that won’t be corrected is the Shoppers Drug Mart a couple of blocks south: a large dead wall and then a big parking lot that bleeds into a smaller parking lot of the Starbucks strip mall— and not a speck of landscaping to soften it at the very minimum. I can’t fathom the thinking behind this kind of design and how it’s allowed.
