A new performing arts centre next to Waterfront park and the Delta Grand Hotel.
This is interesting, Pioneer Gardens is an underutilization of a prime spot, but the way the trees are arranged I'm sure there's some story there. I like to hang out at Tugboat Beach when I'm in Kelowna, wonder what effect this will have on that.

Again, I think the massive parking lot at Prospera would be a better spot, but I'm not sure if Kelownans (is that the right term? never heard anyone use it but it seems correct lol) are ready for a parking structure.

Yeah, haven't seen much done there. Also I believe the official fancy demonym is "Kelownite".

Haven't posted photos of UBCO Tower for a while (mainly with discord voiding the links so having to switch to Flickr, and just not a lot happening), but now as the tower goes up I'm probably gonna be heading there multiple times a week! I'M SO HYPED FOR THIS PROJECT OMG

Great photos as usual Giallo!

That vantage point is great for showing all of downtown in a single shot. Will look even denser if the 346 Lawrence tower and Gateway Tower. They will fill in the gap in the middle nicely. And of course, UBCO will tower over everything once its finished.

Also, hopefully we see some progress on the Ledge at Lakeshore, the grey parkade in the middle of the photo does stand out.

I mean Rutland's just been getting busier and busier along Rutland Rd and Hwy 33 (the roads, not the intersection, though that is also somewhat busy)

Hwy 97 idk, I think it's always been bad, but I tend not to be along on the highway asides from taking the 97 & 98 busses, so I can't really comment there too much. (They really either need to add that other bridge or make Westside Rd a viable bypass)

Yeah that'll be a good one, as well as this angle (wider view of the skyline)

They’ve got banners up on the fencing surrounding the site listing a website where you can register your interest in the project but that’s all I’ve seen.

Not sure if they are pre-selling units yet but I imagine that process will be slow given the current state of the Kelowna market. If Airbnbs are allowed, it may help but I have a feeling it may be a while before we see any action on this site.

Good. I’m sure everyone in Kelowna can agree that that land should be used for something better than more ugly condos. Until our developers can come up with more unique designs, let that land sit empty. Better yet, help our tourism industry with a new downtown hotel. Downtown/the lake is the draw for tourists yet all the new hotel developments lately are out in Rutland/Airport

Thumbs down

For what it’s worth, I had a short conversation with one of Kelowna’s city councillors last night at an event, and it was stated that we likely wouldn’t see any new high rises break ground in Kelowna for the next 10 years (after what has already commenced construction). Whether that proves true or not, only time will tell, but apparently this has been stated by both Mission Group and Kerkhoff.
