I've seen the last section along Hollywood Boulevard from Vine down to the Chinese Theater before, but I think the views of Warner Brothers at the start are new to me. As a Dukes of Hazzard fan, it's interesting to see the back lot 40 years before it became Hazzard Square!

The part I remember was posted a long time ago, and I haven't found it to check the links, so a revisit is always welcome.

The uploader is being elusive about their source for these videos, but I seem to remember that they were on archive.org. The video being flipped and running backwards is a little disconcerting. I downloaded the Hollywood Boulevard video when it was first posted because that too was flipped left to right, although it ran forwards. I managed to flip it around and it became much easier to watch!

I'm kidding. (sort of)
Here's another Framefinder aerial, this one from 1958 showing the end of the Mixville Market, the drive-in and possibly e_r's mystery structure in the right corner of the drive-in parking lot.

https://mil.library.ucsb.edu/ap_indexes/FrameFinder/

Unfortunately it fails to shed any additional light on what the structure might be. I do think the proportions and location are a match.
This shot shows what appears to be a pylon on the roof of the round building well as cars parked around it. I looked again for any history of a drive-in restaurant at this location but found absolutely nothing. No Carpenters, no Scrivners, no Herberts.

Here's an interesting -and intriguing- photograph of the interior of an "Indoor Market".

Seller's descriptions:..."1930s Photo Indoor Market with Employees Los Angeles California OOAK 5x7"

Slightly larger.

I believe we are looking towards the front of the store. (a bit of daylight is coming through a window by the decorations) -but I could be wrong.

The reason I said the photo was 'intriguing' is because of several factors.

Why are there revolving turnstyles placed at -what looks like- the meat counter? (where the pretty girl is standing) Even if I'm wrong and we're at the FRONT of the store the turnstlyles don't make sense, right?
(I just noticed the wooden bench / so it's a waiting area)

AND what is in the large cabinets along the walls of the store. To me they look like books, but that can't be right. Then I thought it might be individual bottles of liquor being sold in boxes.
(just a reminder: Prohibition was repealed in 1933)

Also, how does the seller know this is Los Angeles? Unless I missed it they don't say. You can take a look for yourself Here

Oh, and one last thing.

I think these two are having an affair.

Very intriguing photo. Hard to tell what they're selling. If liquor, why the scale? It looks like little hanging tags run the length of the shelves. Prices?
The coy cashier and mystery man in the back make a good noir screenplay prompt. Who's game?

Pre-supermarket.
Canned goods on shelves among bottled goods.
Toledo scale!
Turnstiles to control flow.
And of course brooms and three car tires.

Note the bin of shopping baskets, ready for the customer to take on the way in and deposit on the way out.

The fruits in the Arizona! crate seem to be grapefruits, which were indeed an export from Arizona in the 1920s, an era in which grapefruit was considered a health food.

It took me awhile to figure out what you were talking about, odinthor. ..Your 'bin of shopping bags' was my 'meat cabinet full of hams'!

But after your comment I see they're not hams - they're woven bags.

Good eye, odinthor. Thanks.

The 1956 and 1960 CDs list Icyclair Corp at 2410 Glendale Boulevard, which is a likely address for the circular building. From 1930, Icyclair was listed at 3410 Glendale Boulevard. I found this advert with the 3410 address in a 1940 edition of the Alexander Hamilton High School newspaper. Could our mystery building have been an Icyclair ice cream and malt shop?

This building, right Bristolian?

It looks like there are pipes (or something) running from it to the larger building.

Here's another look at the 'mystery' building for comparison.

There is a stack of flyers on the table next to the crate in front, and I think I can make out "Piggly Wiggly" on the top flyer. Not that that helps with the store's location . . . .

That's what I'm thinking but still no idea what its function might be.
I think Hoss' Icyclair idea makes sense. It seems very possible that an ice cream company could also have had a hamburger joint, sort of like Fosters Freeze.
The Hamilton High newspaper ad reminded me that when I was in high school in the late '70s, we had a "malt shop'' on campus. It seemed pretty dated then, like it was a holdover from the 1950s.

Thanks again, Bristolian. .and Hoss.

Earlier today I happened upon a group of Los Angeles area slides posted on eBay.

Seller's description:..."Lot of 16 35mm Slides 1959 North Hollywood L.A. Santa Monica Chevy Cinesphere"

I've chosen six of them.

Most of them slant downward towards the left. I think the photographer might have had one leg shorter than the other.

This first one is one of the few straight ones.

Does Randy's Do-Nuts still use the old 'flying' Reindeers as Christmas decoration?

Here's a closer look at the prices in 1959.

This one is really intriguing.

As you can see it says CHEVY Cine Sphere. .. Could this be a temporary theater for a car exhibit? . . . perhaps in Santa Monica or Long Beach?

This next one is probably the most mysterious.

It appears to be a military installation on a mountain top.

.................So now we're looking for a spy who limps.

A mystery street.

This cute little bungalow caught my eye.

For some reason this seems like Santa Monica to me.

You can look at all the slides together Here

There was a Chevy Cinesphere during the 70s at Six Flags over Texas, but I couldn't find a reference to one in California.

As the old joke says:
Once you've seen one shopping centre, you've seen the mall.
