Here's an interesting -and intriguing- photograph of the interior of an "Indoor Market".
Seller's descriptions:
..."
1930s Photo Indoor Market with Employees Los Angeles California OOAK 5x7"
Slightly larger.
I believe we are looking towards the front of the store. (a bit of daylight is coming through a window by the decorations) -but I could be wrong.
The reason I said the photo was 'intriguing' is because of several factors.
Why are there revolving turnstyles placed at -what looks like- the meat counter? (where the pretty girl is standing) Even if I'm wrong and we're at the FRONT of the store the turnstlyles don't make sense,
right?
(I just noticed the wooden bench / so it's a waiting area)
AND what is in the large cabinets along the walls of the store. To me they look like books
, but that can't be right. Then I thought it might be individual bottles of liquor being sold in boxes.
(just a reminder: Prohibition was repealed in 1933)
Also, how does the seller know this is Los Angeles? Unless I missed it they don't say. You can take a look for yourself
Here
Oh, and one last thing.
I think these two are having an affair.
