We could say 'why did they build Templeton and Sea Island Centre stations' as well - now those stations get very little use (and haven't they talked about adding another station at the airport?).
This stop might add about another minute to the commute - which will be shorter due to being grade separated from the rest of traffic on Fraser Hwy.
