It's hard to tell from the pictures, but a yellow moss is taking over my lawn at incredible speed. I'd say about 1/4 of it is now yellow moss with sporadic blades of grass popping up through it. I hope it takes over, assuming it doesn't transform the soil being incapable of supporting any other plant life.
Also, it cooled down quickly just now, which I wasn't aware was forecast. So I made the mistake of checking...
Once again the 1970's (early and mid 70's) are showing us its near nuclear winter phenomenon, It's how I remember those winters, but dont remember any volcano eruption that could have triggered a prolong drop in tempetures.
I'm trying to look back to June 10, 2021 on 'What Is The Weather Today' to see if SignalHillHiker posted that snowfall in June of 2021 but I dont know where/how to find it.
I was in Niagara yesterday as it was a beautiful day. I took the scenic Niagara Parkway when coming back home and stumbled onto some rural traffic when I cut back towards the highway. I had seen videos in the past week of this place with people walking around in mud in white sneakers and what not. I don't know why anyone would go to a farm on a rainy day and why so many people wear white sneakers in anything other than ideal conditions. I saw this first hand multiple times at an animal farm last February.
Traffic yesterday at 6pm was nothing like what is in the photos from the past couple weeks but it was long enough for me to detour. Don't know how they did it but this business is a huge success story.
A few minutes down the road I noticed this place on my detour, which I had never seen before. That's a mighty impressive building. Though I don't know how much of that is a facade and what behind looks like.
As always, try and go to popular tourist places on a weekday or if on a weekend then not in peak season. And come early. Showed up at 9:45 Saturday and got a curbside spot in the big parking lot right beside Clifton Hill. I think the high was about 18 but nice and sunny. Didn't break a sweat walking up and down the hill. Very comfortable.
Going down Murray Ave here I noticed a sign (the next yellow one) that said Unusual Mist Conditions. Never noticed it before. Sure enough, turned onto the Parkway and there was this one spot where the mist was blowing around on ground level but nowhere else on the road. My wipers automatically came on just there.
First time noticing this vineyard too, right in the city, on Stanley Ave. Left of centre on the bottom of the satellite view. I wonder if they actually sell wine from here. If I was drinking wine and they told me it came from grapes grown 20 feet from a major road and a banquet hall and giant parking lot I'd probably spit it out like when Kramer revealed to his guests that the lettuce in the salad he made was washed in the shower while he was taking a shower.
:pretty much par for the course in Newfoundland for mid-May.
But, there were also some flurries at higher elevations in northern NB over the weekend too.
12C and partly cloudy in Moncton at noontime, going up to 14C this afternoon. Long range shows 29C on Thursday.
Cats took game 2 of the QMJHL final yesterday by a score of 4-3 in double OT. Tremendous atmosphere at the game. There is nothing like sudden death in playoff games. They are now up 2-0 over Rimouski. The Cat's playoff record so far this year is 14-1. Pretty damned good!!!
Great weekend, but dry. We were supposed to get 50mm of rain but that is now down to 5mm
Mountain parks and the foothills had heavy rainfall warnings but those are now canceled.
Overall fire hazard is still high.

20C and mainly cloudy. Stupid band of clouds ruined what could have been a perfect day. Ottawa was 26C. Nonetheless a gorgeous May evening.
Low of 10C this morning.
The warmspot was Carman, MB at 36.2C.
Warmest low was Sprague, MB at 21.7C. Will very likely hold for the first tropical low of the year. Cannot beat the wind this time of the year.
Offically 17.4C for a low in Deerwood, MB. That is the new highest this year. At least for the next 24 hours.
Great day for skiing in Whistler this morning, unfortunately I'm only here to work . Milesstones Grill +Bar is gutted, no one there to ask what is replacing it or the same.
Skiers are enjoying the last of the snow.

Another TWO crackhouses in my neighbourhood have the crowd evicted, boarded up. These two are far enough away to not bother my directly, but a few friends nearer are thrilled.
