Trump really hasn’t threatened our sovereignty since trudeau stepped down, clearly trump hated him. Until trump calls carney “Governor” just seems like beating a dead horse?

They are more nationalists than separatists (especially SHH). Canada is a large and relatively disconnected country - regional nationalism is common.

If the BQ were ever in a position to threaten the existence of the country, then things would change.

I'm almost certain his handlers told him to tone down the rhetoric until the election is over as it's hurting the conservative's chances.

I doubt his handlers have told him anything. The Felon tends to react and state whatever is latest on his mind, and has no capacity for holding his thoughts back.

So the lack of mention of Canada recently is most likely because no one has been telling him anything about Canada recently. (Or at best any reports are carefully buried in jargon and shielded by comments on other countries). Since no one is telling him about Canada recently, he has no reason to say anything different from what he's said before. (Hence why DC Judy repeated that there is "No chance on the 51st state idea" a week or so ago).

I'm sure the CPC campaign is very thankful that he hasn't been saying anything in any case. And no, I don't see this as foreign interference either. That the Felon has had an effect on the Canadian election is an obvious truth, and that the right wing parties (like the GOP and CPC) would prefer PP to win is also obvious. So I doubt the CPC had to ask the GOP to muzzle the felon directly or indirectly; it is just an obvious action for those moving the levers of power to do.

Yep I saw that tweet as well. Seems to indicate a tied top line race, or at least a couple points between the two. Regionals will be key of course. Leger is the best pollster IMO so I take them very serious. Expect a release soon. Also Pallas is releasing their new data today.

Also, fresh off the press...

New Liaison Poll
April 19th-21st (1500 sample size)

LPC= 43
CPC= 37
NDP= 9
BQ= 6

Liaison was the most accurate pollster for the most recent Ontario election.

That’s there reason for existence. To threaten the existence of the country, their mandate is a sovereign Quebec, signal hill has stated, in the past his desire for an independent Newfoundland.

How are they any different?

Would the bloc not be worse for denying the Atlantic provinces access to a Canadian energy resource?

Still in denial over carneys connections, I see, not to mention the fact both have said they look forward to working together on building a new deal for North America after the election,

Fear mongering works.

Ekos published a poll after three days of advanced polling. It shows that 18% of the voters they contacted had already voted---45% of them for the Libs and 33% for the Cons.

Agreed.

Antisemitism or Islamophobia won't be tolerated.

Conservatives often cite themselves as being strong on accountability and rules and then this happens and it is clear that they have disregard for rules... claiming it and then not paying it... this is taxpayers $$$.

"Based on House of Commons records, Brock has been paid more than $90,000 for his secondary residence claims since he was elected in 2021. The records suggest Brock consistently made claims each month of $2,375 from April 2022 to November 2023. The rent for his Ottawa housing, according to provincial documents, was $2,703.50."

The last lines of the article say it all.
The liberals care more about what a conservative MP does than their own prime minister.

The issue isn't completely dead. Poilievre clearly understands the politics of it and probably genuinely is also pro-choice but the bulk of the caucus are likely to be pro life. We can expect some limitations on foreign funding for women's healthcare and even some kind of ban on sex selection abortions as the slippery slope. Is any of this a threat to anyone in Canada's rights. No. But it's also a signal that they are socially conservative on other issues. A ban on children getting "gender affirming care" is also likely even if that has wider support so the Liberals aren't campaigning on it.
