It's not acceptable to target any group and if you see someone generalizing Muslims in the same negative light you did with the Jews then report it.

Yes an actual call for a clearly genocidal action should warrant at least a suspension if calling someone stupid does. And agreed please move this discussion elsewhere. This should be an active thread with days to go before election day. This is completely a non-issue in our election.

If Carney wins a majority, Canada will have dodged a bullet.

Carney: He is beating a bad man.

In Vancouver you have a host of tech companies with significant R&D operations. In the past many of these used Canada as a place to park staff they recruited globally but could not get into the US. More recently Canada has been pushing them to hire locally, something they have been doing.

Think of companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce, SAP, Expedia, Boeing, Google, etc.

We should be going to these companies and encouraging them to relocate programs out of the US into Canada. While we want them to hire Canadians, if we need to hand out some work visas for inter-company transfers to attract these programs to Canada we should.

Agreed 100%.

Trumpian fascism is making the USA a non desirable destination for international knowledge workers. Canada could definitely benefit. Many US firms have Canadian subsidiaries where these workers could be planted. Similar quality of life to the USA and, the same time zones.

Trumpian fascism also is making some US academics think about moving to Canada. This is already happening. American physicians are also beginning to apply in noticeable numbers for jobs in Canada.

Canada should be throwing wide open the doors to welcome high quality workers such as this.

Perhaps his point was more about how the Israeli government routinely accuses anyone who criticizes their catastrophic policies towards Gaza and the West Bank as anti-semitic? Putin also uses this tactic calling those who oppose his invasion of Ukraine ‘russophobic’.

Anyways, this will be my last post about the subject. Back to our election. I’m happy at least that the polarity that damaged the American election about Gaza doesn’t seem to be doing so here.

A lot of francophone Quebecers will say that Blanchet is a decent person but it doesn't mean that they will vote for the BQ.

Unsure what his plans are for the final push, but Carney would be wise to make stops in Vancouver, Kelowna, Edmonton, and Calgary. He has lost 8-10 seats in the past week. Some ridings in the Lower Mainland are going blue, and Edmonton/Calgary they are rapidly losing ground, where it looked like the Liberals could win 8-10. Seats.

For Alberta, the momentum is such, that the may end up with only 2 seats, as so many toss-ups are now being led by the CPC by 2-5 points. Other than that, he has remained steady in Eastern Canada, and actually picked up a seat or two in Manitoba.

The BQ will be higher than that. Low 20s at least.

That editorial comic does seem rather apropos. I don't think I've really noticed any real attack ads from the Liberals; while that feels like all the CPC party is putting out.

All things considered, the CPC seem to be running a "Trust Us" campaign, while doing nothing to actually earn that trust. They're shutting out the media, not releasing their plans in detail, not taking the basic steps to be well informed (like the security clearances for PP) and even worst, they're letting the far right idiots dominate their story. It's really hard to earn people's trust when you seem to be doing everything in your power to NOT do anything to earn it.

Liberals keep bringing up abortion, there’s no fear mongering at all going on there. All they talk about is trump, and our dead relationship with America, no fear mongering at all.

I really hate that the Libbies keep bringing up abortion every friggin' election. That issue is dead. Canada is not the USA.

I do agree however with keeping the focus on Trump. He is the one threatening Canadian sovereignty and independence. There is no issue more important than Canadian independence and geographical integrity. None...........

Separatists, traitors and Trump and the evil trinity.

Leger releasing at some point today. Based on Jean-Marc's tweet from last night it looks like they're seeing a very close race as well.

Depending on what the regionals say in Ontario and Quebec that could be worth keeping an eye on. Leger, as I've said many times before, is the gold standard for polling in Canada.
