The current federal election is giving me vibes of the 2014 Ontario election where a new Liberal leader really turned things around against a negative PC leader who led the polls at the beginning of the campaign. The end result was 38.6% for the Liberals, 31.2% for the PCs and 23.7% for the NDP. What was interesting was that there were some polls released during the last week of the campaign that had the PCs ahead by a point or two and a few that had the Liberals and PCs tied for popular support. I'm wondering if the same sort of thing will happen in this federal election.

As I recall from that election, the PC leader was leading in the polls but then made a promise to cut 100,000 public sector jobs. His support disintegrated overnight and the Liberals won easily.
