The Conservative Party is showing us who they really are. That is why they are running Aaron Gunn is a Conservative safe riding in Powell River.

NDP candidate for North Island-Powell River Tanille Johnston said in a statement to CBC News, "It's horrific to see the Conservatives run a candidate that carries such divisive and harmful beliefs."

"I believe that the Conservatives should explain why they feel this type of candidate is best suited for not only our riding of North Island-Powell River, but for our federal government." The Conservative Party has dropped four candidates this week, three of them for controversial comments.

The Liberal Party of B.C. rejected Gunn's application to run for its leadership in 2021 after a review of comments attributed to Gunn on social media.

There is zero chance the Conservative party keeps Poilievre, if the party loses big. There is a chance the pary's inner circle will not do anything, but that would result in a purge, or all the moderates departing to form their own party.

Poilievre is not “banning” paper straws.

Oh. That is bad. I knew the Conservatives were trying to provide a home for some of these extreme right wingers, but that is bad.

I know several people in the Tla'amin Nation that is just north of Powell River. I can't see how Gunn would remotely be popular.

338 has it as a "CPC safe" riding.

He didn't say anything that isn't factually correct. If that's extreme right wing that says more about the Liberal denial of reality and groupthink than it does about "extreme" right wingers. Though there are lots of those running as well.

The advance polling lineups are something that I have never seen in my life. The general consensus seems to be the masses are very pro-Carney. I would not be all that surprised to see the Liberals perform better in the election, than in the polling.

Perhaps as many as 210 seats.

The idea of Ford as leader of the Conservatives is too bizarre for me to even contemplate. He's way out of his depth as a Premier and is only in the position because there is no effective opposition.

The good news for Carney, however, is that Singh was so annoying and disrespectful that he has only hurt his cause. It's yet another reason, amongst a plethora of them, not to vote for him. Those disenfranchised NDP voters will do what the rest of them have already done and shift over to the Liberals.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Rather than lock down the NDP base, and attack Carney for drifting too far to the Center, he spend most of his time attacking Poilievre, which does nothing for him. I got the vibe that Singh has a very personal hatred of him.

Politically, it was a huge mistake to concentrate on Poilievre, considering the NDP is bleeding supporters to the Liberals.

I think the point he was trying to make by attacking Pierre is that he’s the best one to protect Canada from Pierre. The BC ridings where the votes flow from liberal to NDP are going to be important in this case. I disagree with most people on this forum, I think Singh did exactly what he needed to do in the debates. Show NDP voters he’ll do the most for them against Pierre, and that he’s still apart of the conversation. Will it matter though? I don’t think so.

Let's not go overboard
I'll just be happy if Carney's Liberal party gets 172

Well, what did they vote?
I'm curious how Québecois are voting. Would love to hear from FrAnKs and any other Quebeckers.

Blanchet doesn't speak for most Quebecers. It's the Quebec government that will have the most say. Most Quebecers support a pipeline across Canada and through Quebec according to recent polling. The Legault government has been more open to the idea as its economy could be hit very hard by the Trump tariffs.
