This round and round is nauseating... if you believe a CPC government will be better for you and end all of those things and make sure the people of Springfield don't eat the dogs and cats - have at it - seen time and time again when all these "problems" are trotted out and then Conservative government is elected and does nothing - i.e. Trump and his shopping list - he's only made matters worse - which is the typical Conservative trickle-down playbook.

Poilievre gets endorsements from Business Leaders and Ex Bank heads. Maybe Carneys Net zero Banking Alliance wasnt the epitome of economic wisdom? Who knew?

It's a round and round because it's still an issue the LPC are neglecting. Apparently any criticism of their record is now "talking down Canada", even if Carney himself was critical during the leadership campaign (silent now during the general election of course).

No, the CPC won't do any better. Never said they would. But rewarding the LPC after they've changed their front man but kept everyone else in place seems equally stupid. The party needs a shake up and a quick retool won't do.

What does Trump's domestic track record and Springfield have to do with anything? Honestly, are some of you Skybar dwellers even Canadian or just wanna be Democrats?

More hyperbole and hysteria thats ingrained in the DNA of CUPE unions and public sector beurocrats, OISE, Ontario Teachers etc

"Cut services" source? How so?

In the US Biden also signed a bill boosting retirement age. Last time I checked hes not a mean nasty republican .

Again, Canadas conservatives would be (overall) similar to Biden and Obama policy wise. With a few better policy stances in my view.
Trudeau also raised OAS eligibility from 65 to 67. So you're just fear mongering and ringing alarm bells.

Well the budget won't balance itself and Pierre seems to be outspending Carney and decreasing taxes... so services and public service will need to be cut.

Interesting to read this article... Pierre had said attrition would do it, but those are more lies - he has Harper's playbook to follow.

Stephen Harper's former chief of staff says a Poilievre government could move 'quickly' to cut the public service

How is cutting through attrition a lie?

I understand you have a far left bias and you're not going to change,, but how is it anymore a lie of Carney claiming to turn Canada into an energy and natural resource powerhouse without repealing C69?? Thats the single biggest contradiction and obvious lie Ive ever seen from a politician in my life. And it's incredibly dangerous for Canadas economy , cost of living, inflation and the value of the dollar.

Harper also cut the public service through attrition. Yes, you could say it's the same playbook - but it's not a lie. You're just ignorant of history.

Re: the article. He is not affiliated with the CPC campaign. Also the word he used was "should", but regardless neither "should" nor "could" are the same as "would". Word's have meanings, but I can see how you could gloss over this when you're just copy and pasting whatever pops up on your social media feed.

Yet you praise Carney for being a supposed sage of a banker?? Lmao

It's only fair if Carney and Liberal/"Just Transition" insiders pay less in taxes.

How dare the unconnected and the private sector plebs like myself want even a quarter of the financial benefits of what public sector beurocrats , teachers and civil servants have enjoyed for years on the taxpayers dime? The audacity, i tell you

You're implying this group of elite multi-millionaires and former bank CEO's are "unconnected"?

Public sector employees would switch places with them in a heartbeat.

Harper did not cut through attrition - there was DRAP - jobs were cut, people were let go.

Thx for the grammer lesson - is this the same narrative that you use to say that Jones, Musk, Peterson, Shapiro, Trump, etc. don't really support Pierre (wink, wink, wink).

I've never even mentioned the names of most of those people.

And it isn't "grammer (sic)", its semantics. Words have meanings. If you're going to change the meaning of the word to suit your narrative then you might as well just make everything up.

As far as job cuts go, the vast majority of the Harper cuts were attrition. Contemporaneously, the Feds have already started cutting their workforce, mostly through indeterminate contacts. There's a consensus that the Fed workforce grew way too fast and has to be reined in. These cuts started under Trudeau and will continue regardless of who gets elected.

More hyperbolic, borderline mental illness.

I never recall Poilievre talking about Haitian immigrants. Please provide sources.

It appears you are posting American Political commentary. This is the Canada subforum.

Talk about hypocrites! Or does Lantsman have too much $$$ she doesn't know what she has invested in?

Deputy Conservative leader invested in Brookfield while attacking Mark Carney for running the investment giant

If you earn $57,000 a year you save $900 in taxes under Poilievres tax plan.

And Public Sector employees have it extremely good compared to private sector workers, especially self employed like myself paying double CPP.

If you are a public sector worker I understand why youd prefer Red or Orange and I dont fault you for doing whats best for your own job security and financial best interest.

Just dont pretend that the LPC hiring 140,000 federal public sector workers and bloating the size of govt by 40% in 10 years , directly helped a private sector worker or self employed contractor making 60k a year
