Talking with door knockers last night for our local liberal candidate. They felt they were getting positive responses from people, but when asked if they would put up a sign the respondents said no. They were afraid of being targeted. I have a sign up. and on my street there are only 2 CPC and 2 liberal signs. I know of a large number on this street that will vote liberal but I thought I would see more signs for either main party. In fact driving around I thought I would see more but the only signs I see in quantity are those on public land. (I am in Micheal Coopers Riding). Heavy CPC federally but NDP Provincially. and MC will get in again. Heard a couple of analysts say that if Carney had ran in Edmonton the liberals would have probably gained a few more seats.

As a 3x daily dog walker, the Liberal signs in my neighbourhood have either been vandalized (broken), removed (stolen) or had graffi sprayed on it... the Conservative and NDP ones seem unaffected. My neighbour is on their third liberal sign.

I think one of the things we're seeing this election, is that generally speaking, Canadians don't respond well to the blame game, but we don't want to keep the people who caused the problems in power either.

PP built his campaign on blaming Justin for everything going on in Canada, and while Justin was in the running, that campaign worked.

But now that Justin's stepped down, the blame campaign has lost its push. Now what we really want are SOLUTIONS. Carney's been campaigning hard, outlining what he plans to do once in power and all but ignoring PP and the Conservatives.

PP's campaign feels like its waffling, still trying to play up the "Things are bad!", but he doesn't seem to have much messaging getting out saying how he'll fix it. (he has some but it doesn't seem to get much traction).

So when you are picking between someone who's outlining a lot of plans (and has the experience to back him on many of the plans, at least economically) vs someone who's still harping on how bad things are; people seem to be tilting towards the planner.

There's a dude in my neighbourhood who's a notable anti-Trudeau. He has a "FUCK TRUDEAU" flag on his front porch, including two flags on the back of his pickup truck. He, of course, has a Conservative sign on his front lawn. However, everyone else in my neighbourhood has no signs; I wonder why, haha.

Several polls have the Liberals polling above 30% in Alberta. The last time the Liberals received over 30% of the popular vote in Alberta was in 1968.

I have a question for Ontarians: The Liberals are basically going to sweep every urban riding in the country east of Winnipeg but always with one glaring exception, Barrie.

Why is Barrie so much more conservative than the rest of the East?

In Halifax it's always the Liberal signs that seem to be torn up even though the vast majority here will probably vote lib. Unfortunately, I don't blame people at all for not wanting to put a target on their home, especially as the new breed of Maple Magas wants to march in goosestep with the facsist regime down south.

Barrie is really split amongst three electoral districts... so much of the urban population is dispersed by the rural areas that tend to vote Conservative. I think it was one of the only Canadian Alliance ridings way back in the day.

A day or two after the campaign started I drove through Carney's riding and saw dozens of signs for the CPC candidate lining the major roads, but only a handful of Carney signs at major intersections. One already had a shittilly sharpied swastika on it.
