Ultimately he is responsible. The Carbon tax his party implement had done absolutely nothing, Canadians were fed up with it, the liberals responded, which lead to its cancellation.

Plus, he is the one that literally signed off on the cancelled of the carbon tax.

So by Carney enforcing that, he ultimately leaves Canada completely vulnerable to the USA.

Poilievre, on the other hand, would revoke C69, allowing us to get oil to the global market, removing the noose the USA has around Canada’s neck when it comes to oil exports.

In that respect, Poilievre’s plan to fight back against the USA seems a hell of a lot better than Carney’s.

What is your rebuttals to that? In your opinion is it better for Canada for Carney to restrict our Oil industry to only the USA?
Didn't the Liberals just double the Transmountain pipeline to Vancouver?

And btw, our sovereignty depends on more than just oil. That isn't our only resource.

Man, Fuck you. Don’t call me a coward.

Logically, it makes sense for Canada to build out our Oil infrastructure to get away from the USA. But Carney will not do that. You support him not doing that… that makes you a coward for knowingly Canada to be dependent on the USA.

I don’t want that. I want to break free from their stranglehold they have on us and our economy. You don’t.

So fuck you, coward.

It's not just him. The UCP chose Smith to replace Jason Kenney for a reason. They are all Maple MAGA. They adopted the MAGA agenda long ago. In Alberta some of us have seen the damage they are doing to the province. She is, by far, the worse Premier in Canada.

Yep. He's a real Hegseth level alcoholic POS. Just finished fucking with Calgary's Greenline and almost destroyed the entire project. Re-drew the line with a crayon (with Smith's help). Played politics and now the bids will be through the roof. Pure redneck Maga Meathead.

He lost his previous position as a cabinet minister under Kenney over this:

Agriculture Minister Devin Dreeshen resigns from his post following allegations of heavy drinking at work

So of course Dani had to re-instate him!

So why do you all ignore trump saying he’d prefer working with carney?

Why did the 51st state crap more or less stop once carney took over?

Why’d he show carney the respect of calling him prime minister?

Seems trump really would prefer carney to me. He even praised him on truth social! lol truth social, and said he and carney agreed on many things during their phone call, and the two of them have a lot of great work to do together after the election.

Carney even said the call was constructive, and that the two would look towards building a new economic and security deal between the two countries, after carney wins the election. carney also said trump respected our sovereignty in both public and private events.

Yet carney seems to constantly projecting the worst. Stoking the flames of fear. Even though he said they look forward to building a new deal, Just my observations.

Canadians are lemmings.

The one question you need to ask, is the criticism of Bill C69 legitimate?

At the end of the day the pipelines we are talking about go through BC.

BC is in a unique position relative to the rest of Canada. Pre confederation the colonies of British Columbia and Vancouver Island signed very few treaties with indigenous communities. The few that were signed were on the east coast of Vancouver Island. This basically means a pipeline is going to be in unceded territory and the courts have made it clear consultation must occur. Bill C69 codifies that and many expects believe it actually reduces the likelihood of court challenges.

The idea that getting rid of C69 makes things easier is wishful thinking.

Bill C69 also reduces some times from the process that was in place before.

Liberals did double the pipeline. But it is obviously not enough to break free from the USA stranglehold they have on us. We want to sell to the globe, but C69 does not allow us, and Carney supports that, thereby we are wholeheartedly dependent on the USA, unfortunately.

I wholeheartedly agree with your second point. Oil is not our only resource. Fortunately a lot of our other resources have the avenues to be able to reach other trading partners.

Guaranteed that if Trump said he’d rather work with Poilievre this forum would blow up, calling PP an ass licker, MAGA wannabee, etc… definitely not a response like “because everything he says is bullshit”.

Since he supposedly ignored you, I’m quoting this. I don’t think it’s fair to call someone who opposes your view a coward and then proceed to ignore the person so they can’t even answer back.

Keep telling yourself that.

Good take. I do appreciate a civil response, not directly resorting to calling me a coward. I sincerely appreciate the thoughtful, lengthy response.

100%. These people really believe trump respected carney because he told him too? Like how naive could you be, look what he did to Zelensky, if trump didn’t like carney that’s what would have happened when carney made his little “you have to respect us” remarks.

You may want to read up on what Mr Carney is saying about energy these days. From today's Calgary Herald:

Quote:
Mark Carney promises new approach to turn Canada into 'energy superpower'
The approach, he promised, will disrupt Canada's energy reliance on the U.S. while building up domestic clean energy sources and encourage a long-term competitive economy

Liberal Leader Mark Carney promised a robust approach to disrupt Canada’s energy reliance on the U.S. and turn the country into a “leading energy superpower,” during an event in Calgary on Wednesday.

The approach comes with three objectives — energy security, trade diversification and long-term competitiveness — Carney said at the International Association Of Bridge Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Local Union 725 building.

“As a nation, we’ve played it too safe by relying on the United States,” Carney said. “It’s time to realize our full potential.”

Carney, is a former Goldman Sachs guy and former board chair of a major S&P 500 corporation (Brookfield) and was on the board of another S&P 500 corporation (Stripe).

Carney does not call other world leaders names. He is all business.

Trump likely sees Carney as someone that is going to sit down at a conference table and cut a deal.

Compare that to PP who has said, he would tell trump to "Cut it out." PP comes across far more emotional.
