Im looking forward to Carney’s actual platform. The things I know about him this far is:


- he blatantly lied to Canadians stating he had no part in the relocation of Brookfield head office from Canada to the New York, in the name of looking after shareholders best interests during this difficult tariffs war time. In his role at the time, he absolutely had to look out for the best interests of the shareholders. I don’t dispute that. What I do dispute is his blatant lie to Canadians about his role.

- His policy of continuing the carbon tax on industry. He will continue to artificially inflate the price of production, which most certainly has trickle affect that the consumer ultimately pays. He is advocating for this even during the greatest tariff war this country has ever seen. The least he could do is come out and say the tax on industry will be suspended until the tariff war concludes. If there is anything that will drive businesses out of this country or bankrupt them, ultimately lowering Canada’s emissions, it will be the massive tariffs. No need to further artificially inflate the price.

- On the same subject, he again tries to lie saying the carbon tax on industry has no effect on consumers, when everyone Econ 101 course says that the consumer ultimately pays the price. In that one interview, (I can’t recall who with, CTV maybe?) he responds to the question saying something along the lines of “how much steel have you purchased” sort of thing. The least he could do is explain the impact of the tax on the consumer. He is an Econ whiz after all.

- His history of anti-Canada resource development, whilst investing in the same industry and infrastructure in other countries and jurisdictions.

- His uninformed, poorly communicated, (not a lie) but inaccurate information of Canada’s role in supply semiconductors to the USA. I get that the Liberals walked it back and explained what he meant, but he came across as someone that should know it, but doesn’t.

- his belief that “energy transition” will be a main economic driver for Canada.. I mean, really? Under Trudeau how much of a driver where all those incentives, major investors going belly up..

- it’s the same federal government as it was under Trudeau. A master self-proclaimed globalist and elitist doesn’t change the fact the failed government is still in place, it’s just a new face with a better resume.

- When Carney is in BC he says he would as far as implementing the emergencies act to get pipelines built, then only a few days later when in Quebec then told Quebecers in French that he would not impose any such projects on the province against its will…. So like WTF is it Mark, why say two complete opposite things?

A major, MAJOR, thing I will give him credit for… he is not Justin Trudeau, so good on him!
