This is probably Trump vaguely remembering what he was told to write on his social media a couple weeks ago.
That certainly sounds more plausible than my explanation. However, the executive orders that Trump is pushing through at such a rapid pace, have really left me scratching my head, considering they are almost certainly going to dismantle the American Empire.

We live in some fascinating, yet terrifying times...

Having watched quite a number of Mr Poilievre's press conferences over the years, this really doesn't surprise me. It does, however, seem like an "own goal" in the making for the Conservatives. I don't know if he will, but all Mr Carney has to do if asked about this is say something along the lines of "We have nothing to hide; the media is always welcome to travel with us during the campaign".

Has trump even acknowledged carney taking over the prime ministers position? No Governor carney rhetoric yet? I think the silence speaks volumes.

And really there are over a million people of Ukrainian ancestry in this country. And most of them live and vote in the west… who does the west vote for. Conservatives. Why would hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians vote for a Russian stooge. Please.

Why would Putin want pierre? The conservative shadow minister for défense is James bezan. A proud Ukrainian man who is on putins hit list.

The conservatives are also pushing for a pipeline to the Atlantic coast. Apparently, according to several polls, the majority of Québécois support this, and we all know Atlantic Canadians want this. This is the kind of nation building projects we need. To get our resources to European markets and reduce our dependency on the United States, why would trump want that?

The thing is, if he's weak in the French debates, it won't really help the CPC; the BQ will probably pick up that shift.

A third key moment will be April 2nd, when the Idiot brings in the next wave of Tariffs. I fully expect Carney to get a decent bump from them, especially if PP can't swallow his pride enough to disown the Puppet Felon.

So yeah, I'm expecting a strong Minority government, with BQ in 3rd place and the NDP eeking out official party status somehow.
The debates will be very interesting to watch. I don't have high expectations for Carney and I'm not sure what others have. It's PP who will be the one to watch. Will he go extremely negative? Will he make valid points or really turn off a lot of people? Will Carney call him out on being too much like Trump?

I have said on here many times that the Liberals are better to start off behind in the polls. They have way too much momentum at this point. Making a prediction right now is something I can't really do. But the LPC is certainly being looked at as a viable option now unlike only a couple of months ago due to Trump and the trade war.

If she attacks Carney's children, Poilievre needs to address it and condemn her behaviour, since Canadians know that she is in the Conservative Camp. At this point, it is irrelevant who is to blame, as perception is everything. If Poilievre fails to denounce this kind of gutter politics, the Liberals will just increase their lead.

This is NOT the United States, and this is precisely why the Conservative blew a 27 point lead. We Canadians are more united than ever. The last thing we need is the leader of a party to keep on reminding us of how "broken" our country is, and picking fights with just about everyone who comes in his way.
very well said!

Are the Conservatives supportive of allowing private industry to build a pipeline if industry is interested? (We know industry has no such interest).

Big difference from what the Liberals did with trans-mountain. They said, if industry is going to do it, we will. Big difference.

The CPC really is trying to replicate Trump and his tactics.

This latest move with the press during the election is Trump playbook.

Pierre has already removed himself from media, controls who is at his events, who asks questions and the types of questions. Why the media is silent on this borderline fascist control is beyond me.

This is why questions such as security clearance, foreign interference and his own real estate holdings are never asked.

Really not a good look for a party that keeps screaming "freedom".

Carney is a "Russian Stooge"?

Well, that's a brand new fabrication. I'm sure a lot of people here are suddenly convinced.

First, he was "A Socialist." Then he cavorted with Jeffrey Epstein. Now he is a "Russian Stooge."

I can't keep up.

Kicking the press off of your campaign jet is very bad form. Truly a back mark for PP.

This is a cop out. Industry is certainly willing to build further pipelines to the Pacific. Obviously banning tanker traffic makes that a non starter. But costs exploding is directly from government decisions. For example if you have to fly in the LGBTQ@I+ Indigenous committee from every community put them up at the Four Seasons in Vancouver to listen to their concerns about the sound of the metal creaking and hire them to clear brush 300 km away from their community again requiring hotels yes costs will increase to an unsustainable level.

No clearly, you can’t.

I never said that I think carney is a Russian stooge. I said it’s ridiculous to think Pierre is.

I said it’s interesting that trump has remained silent about carney. No quips, no taunting tweets. That’s interesting to me. It’s like he’s trying to distance himself from the liberals, by trash talking the conservative leader instead.

The idea that trump and Putin are using reverse psychology on Canadians to get the conservatives elected is absolutely weak sauce. Why go through the trouble of that when trump literally has much easier ways to bring carney down and destroy his credibility amongst Canadians.

Do you honestly think hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians would elect Russian sympathizers??

Do you think James bezan a proud Ukrainian, who was banned from Russia for standing up to Putin and supporting Ukraine would still be in the party?

Carney hasn't been silent about Trump. That is far more interesting to me than some photographs of Carney's wife's sister's connection to Ghislaine Maxwell.

You will pardon me for thinking that your opinions are sensationalist (and reek of desperation) .

I don't think he is either but lots of US Poles, Balts and even Ukrainians voted for Trump so I don't think support is evidence of innocence. They vote on other domestic issues.

There is a simpler explanation. There are only three conservates that Trump knows:
- Daniel Smith - The conservative that represents the Alberta oil sector that pitched increasing oil exports to the US at a time when Trump was looking to take them to zero.
- Kevin O'Leary - The failed candidate for Leader of the Conservatives. The one who might buy Tick Tock for Trump.
- Doug Ford - The Conservative Premier that was going to shut off the lights to 1.5 Million Americans.

I think Doug is the one that left a lasting impression. Doug managed to get under Trumps skin.

He thinks he views all Canadians are nasty at this point. We don't do as we are told. The Liberals are not threating to put Americans in the dark. Little does Trump realize we are united in our resolve.

Yes, of course carney has been talking about trump, he’s gotta look tough for people like you.

With that, for all that’s carneys said, it’s been crickets from the president. That’s pretty telling.

You know what is even more desperate. Saying conservatives are Russian sympathizers.

Im looking forward to Carney’s actual platform. The things I know about him this far is:

- he blatantly lied to Canadians stating he had no part in the relocation of Brookfield head office from Canada to the New York, in the name of looking after shareholders best interests during this difficult tariffs war time. In his role at the time, he absolutely had to look out for the best interests of the shareholders. I don’t dispute that. What I do dispute is his blatant lie to Canadians about his role.

- His policy of continuing the carbon tax on industry. He will continue to artificially inflate the price of production, which most certainly has trickle affect that the consumer ultimately pays. He is advocating for this even during the greatest tariff war this country has ever seen. The least he could do is come out and say the tax on industry will be suspended until the tariff war concludes. If there is anything that will drive businesses out of this country or bankrupt them, ultimately lowering Canada’s emissions, it will be the massive tariffs. No need to further artificially inflate the price.

- On the same subject, he again tries to lie saying the carbon tax on industry has no effect on consumers, when everyone Econ 101 course says that the consumer ultimately pays the price. In that one interview, (I can’t recall who with, CTV maybe?) he responds to the question saying something along the lines of “how much steel have you purchased” sort of thing. The least he could do is explain the impact of the tax on the consumer. He is an Econ whiz after all.

- His history of anti-Canada resource development, whilst investing in the same industry and infrastructure in other countries and jurisdictions.

- His uninformed, poorly communicated, (not a lie) but inaccurate information of Canada’s role in supply semiconductors to the USA. I get that the Liberals walked it back and explained what he meant, but he came across as someone that should know it, but doesn’t.

- his belief that “energy transition” will be a main economic driver for Canada.. I mean, really? Under Trudeau how much of a driver where all those incentives, major investors going belly up..

- it’s the same federal government as it was under Trudeau. A master self-proclaimed globalist and elitist doesn’t change the fact the failed government is still in place, it’s just a new face with a better resume.

- When Carney is in BC he says he would as far as implementing the emergencies act to get pipelines built, then only a few days later when in Quebec then told Quebecers in French that he would not impose any such projects on the province against its will…. So like WTF is it Mark, why say two complete opposite things?

A major, MAJOR, thing I will give him credit for… he is not Justin Trudeau, so good on him!

You don't sound like you are looking forward to Mark Carney's platform.
