Lol… sure I do, I want see how many more lies, mistruths, or double messaging he thinks he can get away with? So far it seems Canadians really don’t cared about being lied to or being taken for fools… C’mon Mark, Canada is a leading supplier in semi-conductors? Taxes on industry don’t affect the consumer? You weren’t the chair of the board that signed off the approval to move Brookfield head office?

The crux of Carney is whether Trudeau's failures were due to incompetence or due to error on something closer to first principles or ideology. If the first, Carney could work out. If the second, he will not do very well.

Polievre is handling this all very poorly, which shows the narrowness of his experience. I suspect he thinks that Canadians assume no. 1, which I think is reasonable insofar as our entire existence tracks the favouring of British establishment thought* over various fiery US movements dating back to 1776.

I don't know that he is quite at no. 2 himself, though, which might mainstream him a bit but it loosens his footing in opposition against anyone but the depthless Trudeau. He has a lot of Economist-style thoughts.

(* Contemporary Anglo left-liberalism being as much this as the Empire was in its day. Sadiq Khan in Toronto etc.)

Listening to PP speaking in Sudbury today, I felt that he may be finding his feet after a few shaky months. His delivery, however, has changed and he sounded like he was going by rote - there's a lack of emotion that doesn't jibe with his substantive comments. In any event, he can't be dismissed and he's going to give the Liberals a real fight in the coming campaign, I suspect.

Maybe we need to go back to basics of corporate governance. The chair of the board runs the mechanics of the board but he is not a king. His vote counts the same as the others on the board. Do we know if he supported the move or not? This sounds like a decision for shareholders and not the board in any case.

All said, I am looking forward to seeing the platform. So far he has hit the ground running and doing well.

Perhaps, but he is going to have to use a heck of a lot of deodorant to overpower the stench of American fascism wafting over the border.

I just can't get the "Canada is broken" and "we're stupid" comments from the past 2 years. He really had me convinced that nothing is good. But now he thinks Canada is best, first, last, up, down, sideways, always... it'st just very confusing for a voter.

He also seems to gleeful that Trump doesn't like him... I too am very suspicious of this new line from Trump / Poilievre...

PP actually looked much better with the glasses. He looks very myopic without them...his face looks strained or just very tired.

Maybe if he put the glasses back on he would see that his social media campaign ("Carbon tax Carney--He's just like Justin." with sinister red hue x 10000000 exposures) has been a disaster. Talk about focusing on yesterday's news. It just reinforces the belief that he has not kept abreast of what really concerns Canadians. Which is: Trump, Dump, and Drumpf.

You just hate PP, and find every reason to, even making up your own theories, all at the same time are ok with being lied to by Sir Mark. .. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you mention Mark Carney’s blatant blunders? They are lies that his voice only needed to sound a little more foolish and condescending that they could equate to a lie that would come out of Trump’s mouth.

I took away the same thing. His delivery has changed. He seems slightly more polished. But also yes he seems very robotic and emotionless. Overall though he seems to have found his footing. The last month has been a disaster for him.

Like I've said here many times, this race is far from a foregone conclusion. PP is going to give the Liberals a run for their money. Expect the polls to tighten as we go into the next week or two. This is anyones race.

I see all the right wing Canadian news outlets are jumping all over Trump's statement. However, was Trump sincere? I don't believe it for one second. For starters, he did not even mention PP or Carney by name. Second, it was not driven with much passion, which is very unlike Trump.

I get the feeling that Trump is being advised by his inner circle, that his disdain for Trudeau backfired, and to favour the Liberals. However, Trump is so unstable, that I seriously do not believe he will adhere to it, if Carney does something to annoy him.

In other news, Joe Rogan, a PP endorser and outspoken critic of Trudeau, is now stating on his podcast that Trump should just stop with the 51st state bullshit, which is encouraging.

Withe all due respect, this attitude is the reason that the Conservatives blew a 27 point lead, and are now trailing in the polls. The #1 election issue for the past couple of months, has been Trump, and who is going to stand up for Canada.

Canadians want to be united across the political spectrum. This is why patriotism is stronger in 2025 then perhaps it has ever been. People here do not want infighting between the political parties, they want to see who can unite Canadians. Being divisive like this is going to be the nail in the coffin for the Conservatives, if they continue to spend their energy attacking the Liberal.

For the life of me, I cannot comprehend how Conservatives are so tone-deaf, that they do not see this. It's like they have lost touch with the Canadian public, and live in their own bubble.

He's not a Russian stooge, but he's Putin's preferred candidate.

Sounds like he's scared of Carney.

Huh? I don’t hate Mark. I love that he replaced the man who millions of people hate, Justin Trudeau… I hate how Mark lied to me, took me for a fool.

Your nonsense name calling is insanely immature.

PP’s blunders likely so far is his condescending tactics communicating to the Libs/NDP.

His platform is actually being adopted by mark, unless of course Mark is lying, which judging by his track record he likely is.Axe the Tax, check. Build pipeline, m, check.

its actually quite funny, only a few short months ago, if one were to support those causes on this forum, you’d be labeled as a climate denier, a radical who doesn’t support the climate… but here we now are!!

I want to hear you say it! “Axe the Tax, and Build more pipelines, because i am a Lib and I support Mark Carney”

Quite frankly both conservative and liberal partisans are equally intolerable right now, both attitudes absolutely stink. Both are equally good at pushing away swing voters that they need to win an election.

We need more level-headed discussions in politics.

Of course, because the more 51st state orange slop that comes out of his mouth helps Carney and the LPC.

I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that my post was divisive.

I called out his conspiracy theory’s

I named just a few lies we’ve been fed by the Liberal leader.

How is this tone deaf?

Sorrt, but im not just gonna buy in to the conspiracy theories and just accept the lies.
