I don't think you understand my point. Back in the 90's, you would see this applied to something like teenagers versus 40 year olds, and there was more truth to it. Now more and more frequently you see people implicitly applying it to much older demographics, like 30-somethings versus 60-somethings.
I did not bring up "OK Boomer" and I was replying to an earlier post talking about how 18-40s are more prone to misinformation.
The reality is that people usually are more mature in their 30's and 40's than they are as teenagers, and there tends to be cognitive decline particularly in the 70's and 80's. And it's natural for a demographic that received a huge windfall and retired early to be out of touch with the job market or rental market. Younger people are more in touch with their own financial situation.
I don't think the idea that the 20-45 demographic is more susceptible to fake news on the internet than old people is true. As one example, Trump, basically fake news incarnate, has the most support in the 45+ male demographic. I'd bet that a disproportionate number of Canadian MAGA types are in this age demographic.
