Does anyone know more about the Equal Housing Initiative? They have a pretty fancy website and a bunch of board members but I can't figure out what they actually do. They've been talking about renovating the McLaren Hotel for a couple years now but it doesn't seem they're making any progress. They have three proposed projects up on their website, including a renovation of the St. Charles Hotel, but none of these projects have received any funding through the first 2 rounds of the Housing Accelerator Fund or through the Affordable Housing Now fund. Makes me think that these aren't very serious proposals.

Edit: I've spent some more time looking into the organization. It seems the director is Rick Lees, who was previously "ousted" as director from Main Street Project. It seems like the guy has a shady past:

I've also noticed that the both "Supportive Housing" and "Financial Reports" pages on their website don't work. Seems like something fishy is going on.
