Hope they can secure funding. A year round farmers market would be excellent. Hopefully more carrots and potatoes and less soap and beads.

It seems odd that they wouldn't include the market in phase 1, considering they were selling it as the focal point of this development.

I cannot wait for a market - agreed, bring on the produce meats and cheese!

Council Minutes - July 21, 2022
Market Lands - Market Building:
Since 2020, Market Lands Inc. has been working with a consortium of companies to establish a food incubator in the market building. This facility will have supports for food producers, as well as retail, events, and food experiences for visitors. Work on this component stalled somewhat because of the uncertainty around the duration and ultimate impacts of the pandemic. Work has now resumed and over the next six months Market Lands Inc. will be finalizing that building's design so it is ready for tender one year after the mixed-use building.

Ready for tender one year after the mixed-use building is… Tendered? Finished construction? Occupied?

I read that as tendered one year later. Relatively minor in the grand schemes of things, as long as it's still going ahead. I'm sure someone on here knows more about it.

Nice to see it coming along!

Has there been any update on the status of the northern two-thirds of the site. Last I recall, CV put out an RFP to private developers and weren't satisfied with any of the submissions.

Does CV intend on putting out another RFP or are they kind of rudderless right now?

Should be announcements shortly. I believe, like all current proposed multi-family developments they were waiting on the HAF funding.

It's bigger than the under construction project right now.

this thread is funny to go through from the start....lots of excitement for the competition, followed by anger over the selection, followed by cascading expectations as each new iteration is released.

I do hope when the next phase is unveiled, it bring back some of that original excitement and optimism.
