I know this is mostly a Democrat or Canadian Liberal party forum with very few posters from the Texas of Canada but i'm surprised no one has mention that one of the Shark Tank investors is proposing building the World's largest AI data center in Alberta costing $100 billion.

It’s a really exciting proposal for sure, but I am skeptical in regards to the involvement of Kevin O’Leary. He doesn’t have a fantastic track record (especially specific to O’Leary Ventures) and it really hinges on finding outside investors since his net worth is only $400M. It’s nice to see that he has partnered with Greenview Industrial Gateway and this proposal aligns with Alberta’s goals for building data centres, but the leap from a $2.8B Phase 1 to $70B+ by Phase 4 is pretty lofty.

The renderings were 100% thrown together with AI over the course of a day and the site plan looks highly preliminary. I think we should all remain cautiously optimistic until some real investors start jumping on board.
