From the website:

September 2024
Construction at Oakridge Park is progressing well as we approach the end of Summer.
Suite finishing work at Oakridge x Castiglia will commence in the Fall with Oakridge x Lissoni,
Oakridge x Clemande, and Oakridge x Westbank towers following shortly after.

Work has commenced on the 9-acre park. The construction of the entrance staircases
are now complete, and the form of the three-story slide for the Children’s Play Area
by the Community Centre is now underway
.

Retail tenants are beginning Tenant Improvements on their locations
within the Oakridge Park shopping centre.

The first Sanctuary Pod at Oakridge Park was successfully installed

on the Oakridge x Castiglia tower at the end of August.

New leasing plans with named tenant locations.
Note that Hudson's Bay is not named in the anchor location.
Nor is the other larger space at the southeast corner.
It really still reads as a single level mall , but with a Food Hall above.
The Transit Galleria has a step up into the Lower Galleria before you access the Main Mall Level 1 through the North Atrium.

Interesting thanks!! Curious to know why Apple isn't listed as a tenant yet? Also hope the large anchor space doesn't end up sitting empty for a time, can't fathom a Hudson's Bay ever opening there.

Overall Phase 1 looks only slightly larger than the previous mall.

I guess there's a chance it could be stuck in Phase 2.

3310 is Veronica Beard

https://plposweb.vancouver.ca/Public...ctId=240820417

There was a BP for The Bay space but for some reason they've mentioned Safeway so not sure if those reports were just misfiled. Anyways the latest September update says this:

Quote:
Shell space has not been handed over to tenant. No progress.
I assume it's for HBC.

The Safeway application September report:

Quote:
Job Progress:
? Ongoing plumbing and electrical rough-ins.
? Topping slab areas #2 and #3
? Steel stud framing to begin

I certainly wasn't expecting a diploma mill going into a new-build. That just seems off.

They've been taking new build office space for a while now so why is it off? Vancouver House, B6, Deloitte Summit etc. There's obviously little demand from traditional office users for these builds.

I think it’s because it’s in a mall

The office space also extends into the podium of Tower 12 on levels 2 - 5.
It's being marketed as the Creative Commons Offices - that explains why that podium was built in Phase 1.
https://leasing.oakridgepark.com/commons-creative/

Fairleigh Dickinson would have the Level 2 space of the podium
and will make it contiguous with the high ceilinged 'anchor' space.

In another era, that would have been another 2 storey anchor department store next to the main anchor space.

It was specifically marketed to schools (though I doubt Fairleigh Dickinson would have a gymnasium)

Here's the Tower 12 office podium - Levels 2 through 5.

It would be cool if Apple took the outdoor space on the park level near the 'Infinity Entrance'. That would drive customers outdoors.
But I doubt that would happen.

There's not a lot of space in the mall. The corridors seem quite short (between 7 and 9 stores long)

Phase 2 will add a lot of retail space in the outdoor "High Street", but looking at the Tower 12 podium,
the retail space there doesn't look "inviting" compared to, say, Brentwood Plaza.

I was thinking the same thing with a park-level Apple Store but it didn't seem like the layout would allow for that.

Maybe Apple isn't 100% from February 2024

There was a long silence after BIV asked Burns if Apple Inc. (Nasdaq:AAPL) would return to the shopping centre.

"Apple is a long-term partner with us," she said. "They were at Oakridge Centre before. They would love to come back. We have more interest in the retail space than there is space we have to lease, which is the best place to be."
