I mean great for you professor, you've got your entire life within biking radius and never need to go beyond it. That isn't practical and should NOT be mandatory for the entire metro.

Light rail does get an advantage when it's on an old train corridor that's partly-separated from the road network... of which Vancouver no longer has any, so he wants to run block-long trains down our busiest streets every five minutes.
