There has been a second vineyard on Lutes Mountain for the last several years.
The best known of the two of course is the
Magnetic Hill Winery on Front Mountain Road. The larger vineyard (in terms of acreage) however belongs to Shaun Fraser (ex of the Pump House Brewery), and, now that he has sold Pump House, he has done a hard pivot, and now plans to invest heavily into his wine business. The appellation will be
Pioneer Estate Vineyard, and they are currently constructing a production facility, retail space and tasting room on Whitfield Trites Road.
