Why would that give critics of the exterior second thoughts?
It's like saying I'm a gorgeous hunk as long as I turn the lights off so you can't see me - or I put on a mask. That's not really a compliment.
Videotron's siding still looks dated - no amount of darkness or fancy lights will change that.
